Re: Roy out for a few weeks (possibly the season)?
We shouldn't hold our future hostage for maybe 3-5 extra wins this year

the possibly the season is my "jumpin' the gun". Not part of that quote. Its a possibility given Roy's history with his foot.

I'd rather see him back healthy and strong (surgery if necessary) on opening night next season, then to continually get banged up for the rest of the season.

I mean Roy's quote about taking a week or two off. He was kind of baited into saying it.

Re: Roy out for a few weeks (possibly the season)?
yeah lets tank. if we go 2-24 from here out we might get the 11th pick instead of the 13th.
i don't mind roy healing, but i think it's pretty important for the team to re-establish at least a small bit of confidence and chemistry before the season ends. shutting him down for the entire rest of the season unnecessarily would be detrimental at this point.

Let's give him a few shots of good scotch and put the leeches on him. He'll be right as rain in no time.

I hope he'll be OK. Sounds like a few games off might be good for him. Didn't James Jones say recently he expected to be back in a week or so?

I say draft OJ Mayo. He would be great.

I agree. There's not a lot of draft positioning to be gained from outright tanking. Let's see if we can work on better team defense and grind out a few more wins this season.

Re: Roy out for a few weeks (possibly the season)?
The first thing I thought about when I saw the headline that he was hurt was about a recent post here asking why Nate was playing Roy so much when we aren't really going anywhere this season. It seemed like a legitimate question then and especially now; since I also read in the story that this was an aggravation of an injury he suffered in the Dallas game.

Re: Roy out for a few weeks (possibly the season)?
I want him to be 110% before he comes back. Hell, I think he might as well get that heel surgery he keeps putting off wile he is at it.
This injury is going to be a very important time in Travis Outlaw's career. We now need to start him at SF to make up for the lost scoring. I really, really hopes he takes the starting spot and never lets it go.

Re: Roy out for a few weeks (possibly the season)?
This is exactly why we need a great known player in trade and not another kid to learn the ropes in the draft. Roy is hurt cause he's had no real help all year and been asked to over tax his body for a team that had no real hope of making the playoffs. I hope Roy takes the rest of the season off and comes back strong with ODEN next year. In the mean time give Webster, Jack and Sergio tons of playing time and get them ready to trade for a solid vet to help next year.

From Barrett's blog:
Quote:

Roy underwent an MRI on the ankle late Sunday night, and the results simply showed what we already knew- he aggravated an already-sprained and sore ankle.
