ESPN Lottery Machine (yes, it's back)

13) Portland
This year's sleeper, Westbrook can both run a team and concentrate on scoring. He's a solid shooter, but he really excels when putting the ball on the floor and finishing at the basket. He has great length, explosive leaping ability and elite quickness and speed for a player of his size. And he can be a physical ballhawk on the defensive end.

21 spins for me before Portland hit the top 3 where ESPN had Jarryd Bayless as the selection.

Remarkable how many freshmen project in the top 10.
I have a scenario where the first sophomore goes 7th. 7TH!

Smh at the sorry list of players they have in the lottery. What a sad draft

It's deeper than last year.

Which isn't exactly saying a lot because this draft is full of role players.

Tough to tell that when you're looking at freshmen ballplayers. And my guess is that 14 NBA GMs feel the same as I do.

The problem is a lot of GMs are lazy when it comes to the draft or should I say dont pay as much attention as they should. Draft sites are not the best evaluators of talent, but it seems that GMs rely heavily on them. Deandre Jordan for instance and Russell Westbrook have no business being as high as they are on that draft simulator

I got Memphis on my first go, hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

I think Russell Westbrook will be a very good player. Who in the world besides him would you put in the top 14?

Re: ESPN Lottery Machine (yes, it's back)
From his team
Darren Collison and Kevin Love are better players. Tyler Hansbrough, Ty Lawson, Chris Douglas Roberts, Darrel Arthur, Devon Hardin, Ryan Anderson just to name a few guys are better players.
Marcus Ginyard of UNC will give you the same type of defense Westbrook provides and he can be picked in the second round

Love, Hansbrough and Collison will not be better pros than Westbrook. Isn't Hansbrough staying another year? Hardin is likely a low first rounder, as with Arthur
