Re: Small forwards in the draft?
Who would we trade the pick for?
We would have to look for a PG a notch below our coveted 'Monta Ellis, Devin Harris, Jose Calderon, Mike Conley Jr.' tier.
TJ Ford? No way, too much of an injury risk and too much of a terrible fit next to Roy.
Thats pretty much the only guy I can think of right now.
We could probably get a SF like Mile Miller or Corey Maggette, but I would rather we dealt our unnecessary depth for one of those two.

I agree with most of your post dude,e xcept a couple parts.

And what would Ellis and Barbosa be doing then? Not spotting up for threes, because neither is particularly good at that.
|
they play very well off the ball. Are quick off screens and can score.

I imagine you intend to imply a contradiction. If we did draft Westbrook, it would be BPA and not because we're drafting our future starting PG. He's not even starting for UCLA - he's a few years away.
|
Westrbook IS starting and getting almost 35 MPG this year. He is getting 13ppg and is one of the best defenders in the Pac 10 and made 3rd team all pac 10. The kid is maturing in front of our eyes, and imo, would be the best fit from the draft.
I think the draft is too deep at the combo guard spot for us not to take one this year. IMO, PG needs to be filled this year, either by drafting with our pick, or involving trading our pick to get a PG, either way, i don't think it will allow us to use a pick and get a SF, unless we can package some players and 2nd rounders.

i think depends who gets their certain picks.
If Memphis gets a high pick, and wants either Rose or Bayless, then they'd probably want to get rid of Conley.
Stuff like that, and if Memphis gets a high pick, and wants to keep conley, maybe they'd want to move down to around #13.. never know.

Good point. Lets hope Memphis gets #2. They would most defintiely go for the Memphis Rose. Can't see Rose and Conley playing together in any circumstance.

Re: Small forwards in the draft?
Even if Memphis got Rose, they would never take #13 straight u for Mike Jr.

Re: Small forwards in the draft?
^i don't think so. But throw in a 2nd, a future 1st maybe, and some players like Jack, Frye even Outlaw (i'm just saying, i'd trade outlaw for a starting PG) and i think they would, maybe.

Re: Small forwards in the draft?
^ I would prefer we trade a PT Guard and our #1 for a Point Guard. (Kopenon or Jack or Sergio) Unless it is for a star player.

What does this mean? Scored above 8?? 8 what?

yea, i agree. Thing is though, the blazers need to consolidate roster space.
I just hope we move up a couple spots, grab Westbrook, and just leave the team as is. I really don't want to add someone like Artest, or Miller or anyone like that. honestly i'm really happy with our team. without oden, rudy and the pg we get, we are a .500 or a little better team. That means we should be an above 50 win team next year, which is good for me. I just don't want to mess somethin' up now. Westbrook is the best fit. Mayo is gonna bea stud, but wouldn't shine on our taem, i jumped off the bayless bandwagon because he really seems to rather score than play point, idk how that would work, i like gordon but he would be a horrible fit, and rose is out of reach. I'd rather just do Jack, 1st, 2nd to move up from 13 to9-10, and grab Westbrook.
Blake | Westbrook
Roy | Rudy
Webster | Jones | Outlaw
Aldridge | Outlaw
Oden | Pryzbilla
Frye, Sergio are 11th and 12th. Miles, LaFrentz and McRoberts will just sit as our 13-15.
Seems like lotsof people want really big changes, which is used to want, but idk. Imagine adding a Dwight Howard next year, with a team that we have, imo we are fine. I wouldn't wanna get rid of players who know their roll, for a new player who might not pan out, because he wants money, minutes, shots, the ball in crucial time and disrupts chemistry with 15+ shots a game. I like Roy as our perimeter playmake, and Oden and Aldridge in the post. I like Blake a lot. Westbrook is a defender that we need for Paul and Parker in the playoffs, and he will blossom into a star, but the type that would fit, imo.
IDK, i've just given it a lot of though, and lots of people really want to just totally remake our team, after we are above .500 and have one of the best centers to ever come out of college comin' in.
Sorry for the rant. I just kinda find it funny how every day you hear, lets trade Outlaw, Webster, Jack, Sergio for Artest, Miller, Magettee, Deng and so on... lol. I think we are fine, to be honest.
