Would the Blazers hold any interest in Chris Duhon?...
he would probably come cheap and has good up side not to mention he's a free agent and the Bulls will probably let him walk.

I don't know about the Blazers, but I've always liked his game. I think that he has a lot of similarities to Blake in the way he plays. Pretty decent at everything and he's a pass first type PG. If he could be had on the cheap, I think he'd be an upgrade to their current backups.

I don't see a lot of reason to bring him in. I think he's a solid backup point. We already have 2 of those. Ideally if we trade one of those 2, it would bring back a better point, thus making Duhon unnecessary. However, if we do end up needing a backup point for whatever reason, we could do worse.

I just don't think Jarrett jack or Sergio will be in Portland next season. They both don't fit are long term plans.

I've always like Duhon's game. I don't think he has a good upside though. What you see is what you get from him.
He's a nice solid backup PG, won't turn it over, and is capable of hitting the 3 ball. In other words, probably a Nate guy. I'd want him for cheap.

Didn't he play for Duke. Since Blake is a Terp, they would probably kill each other.

Re: Would the Blazers hold any interest in Chris Duhon?...
As a guy who watches the Central division a lot, I wouldn't advise on picking him up. Yes, he looks to pass first and he is a fairly good defender, but he's pretty turnover prone and he is a really bad offensive player. He can get streaky at times and hit a couple threes, but that doesn't really make up for other nights when his team basically has to go 4 on 5. He may be kind of useful in an extremely limited role, but I wouldn't go out of my way to pick him up.

I'm inclined to agree with Jack, presuming Fernandez comes over. Likewise, if Fernandez comes over, I expect they'll keep Rodriguez for at least another season if only to help Fernandez get oriented. Thus, I think there's pretty decent odds that one or the other of them will still be on the roster next season.
As others have at least sort of said, it's not the back-ups we should be hoping are upgraded. I'm looking forward to someone like a Harris becoming the starting PG, with Blake (and Roy) becoming the main back-up(s), and either Jack or Rodriguez (hopefully Rodriguez) being the third PG on the depth chart.
Finally, we probably shouldn't forget about Koponen. He's apparently been playing better and might make a push to be on the roster either next season or the season after. And he's got great size for a PG if I remember correctly -- 6'4"ish?

Actually I meant Blake and Jack. Both of whom are fine backups, but not really starter caliber in my opinion. Much as I love Sergio, he's got a ways to go to be "solid", so I don't even count him as anything but a project.

I don't consider Steve Blake a backup PG becouse he starts for our team as of right now. With that being said I do beleive that Chris Duhon would be a better backup PG than what we have at this point in time.

Isn't Duhon Jack's cousin?

I'm not sure if he is or not but he would be an upgrade over what we have right now.

If we have room and need a backup PG, I would consider him.
