Lol....Poor Jarrett

Pathetic.

Re: Lol....Poor Jarrett

If it wasn't for Jack's extra size heart, hustle, and occasional great game I would probably be glad that's he's likely on his way out at the end of the season ... but I really do feel badly for the guy; seeing somebody fail because they are probably trying too hard and tightening up is no way to go.

Re: Lol....Poor Jarrett

I really would like Jack to do well but he hasn't.

I would also like to point out something else. Most of the guys in the league, who they talk about heart, hustle, and size in the league, pretty much stink. Those are just the positives that sports guys like to throw out there because they don't want to say anything bad about them. It's kind of like when your watching football, and every player they talk about is "All pro level". But they aren't. Jack-Heart, Hustle, size, - stinks. Viktor Kryapa- Heart, Hustle- stunk. Eduardo Najara-Heart, Hustle-stunk. Ruben Patterson- Heart, Hustle-stunk.

Well, but heart, hustle, and size can be vital components to a player succeeding. Jarrett Jack could still be a very good (backup) combo guard in the NBA. If he works on his shot, improves his ball-handling (in both cases, it would only take modest improvement), and get himself into a system where he's mostly expected to play in the halfcourt, he could be a very serviceable backup. What would get him there are the three attributes you described. He doesn't stink. He wouldn't have been a first-round draft pick and gotten steady playing time in front of NCAA champ Taurean Green and international phenom, Sergio Rodriguez, if he did. He's just not as good as we want him to be.

Re: Lol....Poor Jarrett

I don't think Jack 'tightens up.' If he biffed free throws, I might think that. But the guy is as cool as a cucumber at the line. I think he just makes bad plays. If anything, I think most of his bad plays are because he is trying to play faster than he is capable of. And I think he has to play as fast as he can, like on his drives to the basket, in order to be successful.

Jack and his attempts to play fast are a double-edged sword. He just doesn't have the finesse of someone like Brandon Roy, who can get pretty much wherever he wants to go, seemingly in slow motion. So he plays fast and hard. Sometimes that effort results in a good play; often it results in a bad one.

Jarrett Jack: He's All Heart!

I do think he'll have a fine NBA career as a solid backup. I think there are teams that will trade for him, and systems where he can be successful.

I admit I wish him gone, but I do wish him well.

Saying a professional athelete has heart is like saying a girl has a great personality.
