That's 10 guys. Not counting Raef, Martell, Jack, Serg and the pick. I think you use that combo to bring in someone special.

That's only nine guys! You may have meant to have 10, but who are you going to add?

Mea Culpa HCP. I posted my above post before I finished reading all the posts in the thread so failed to notice if anyone else had caught the mis-count. But I don't want to focus solely on the number, but on who you want to add.
Do you want to keep Jack and Sergio, get rid of them both, or keep one and not the other? How many new players do you want to add via trade and/or draft? Who? Theoretically, if Miles and Von Wafer are the only two players released, you could still keep everyone else and add Rudy and one draft pick.
Step back and Chill! And un-wind that ball that is being knotted.

Re: Play Pritchard (Pre-Draft)
Who should stay? The usual core:
Oden, Roy, Aldridge
+ veteran role players
Pryzbilla, Blake, Jones (if he doesn't demand too big a contract)
+ Rudy
I think anybody else is trade-able for the right price. Outlaw, Webster, & Sergio have the most upside but in order to land a quality player one of more of them needs to be included in trade.

Wow. Er... I wasn't meaning to pick on you. I was wondering if maybe you'd been counting someone you hadn't actually typed or some such. There was clearly some kind of mistake and I wanted to make sure you noticed it in case it made a different to you overall point.
I guess that's the miracle of pixel based communication.

Re: Play Pritchard (Pre-Draft)
If Frye, Jack and Miles could be packaged for a breathing body, I'd be very stoked.

Sorry! I haven't had sex in like a year, I'm going crazy! When I typed that, I had Serg as our back-up PG. Changed my mind and deleted him. I just read my post, and maybe I did get a little pissed, huh? Never happen again, I promise! Off to my anger management class-Peace!

Don't understand why Blake is loved so much more than Jack. Blake kills us with his indecisiveness just as much as Jarrett does with his turnovers.

First, I don't think that's true. Second, Blake's a better shooter. I'll give Jack that he's better at driving and finishing, but with Roy and Fernandez next season, that's a skill set I'm not as concerned with.
Mostly, though, I think Blake's skill set is a fine one for a back-up PG on this team. Part of that is the assist to turnover ratio and but more of it is that he seems like a "steadying influence" (at least as compared to Jack), defenses actually have to pay attention to him when he doesn't have the ball in his hands, and he's currently the best defender this team has for guys like Parker, Paul, Nash, and Iverson.
Jack might actually be a better player than Blake (though I don't personally think so) but mostly it seems to me Blake's a better fit.

No worries. Sadly, I can't/won't help with most of the above, but I'm happy to kick around PG ideas.
Rodriguez... I'm torn about him. I might rise to the occasion with Fernandez helping push him off the court. Then there's also the chemistry between them that McMillan might find useful. Otoh, Rodriguez seems like he's another season or two away from being an average defender at best, and honestly I have a hard time picturing him ever being even as good as Nash is defensively.
Now, that might not matter if, like Nash, he can wreak havoc on the offensive end. Sadly, that seems nearly as far away as his defensive strengths. I'm beginning to suspect that the NBA players are just enough faster, stronger, and/or smarter than what he's faced in Europe that he's already peaked as an NBA player. Yes there were games where he seemed ready to take the league by storm earlier in his NBA career but a combination of teams figuring out to just back off him and McMillan leashing him may have done him in. His best hope may be to be traded to a team like (ironically) the Suns.
As for other options, I dunno. I'm kind of attracted by the idea of Calderon, though that seems nearly as unlikely as Harris or Paul. I'd had hopes for Green but alas....
Maybe there's some dinosaur like Eric Snow to be had? Or maybe they do take a chance on someone from the draft? I can imagine being pretty content with a rotation of Roy, Fernandez and Blake, at least for next season. And while it may take another season or two, eventually (if everyone stays healthy) the Blazers should regularly have advantages at the 2, 4, and/or 5. If Outlaw can continue developing as a 3, there should be mismatches often enough there, too. And this team's bench should consistently outplay the bench of most other teams. That may be advantage enough that they won't need a hammer PG?

what? Blake's assist to TO ratio is unreal good. He is soo solid, and a much better shooter. He runs the team much better. Blake is the PERFECT role playing PG. He takes care of the ball as good as pretty much any PG i've seen.
