Re: The PG spot is the biggest need for the Blazers...
Why not Keyon Dooling? He is one of the best defenders at the one, hes quick, and can handle the ball when it's not with Roy. He did great in Miami next to Wade.

Is Dooling really a good defender? I never heard that.
As for Devin Harris. Once again, getting Harris is just about as absurd and unrealistic as getting Deron or CP3. Will NOT happen.

No you don't understand NJ reputedly likes Jarret Jack (I heard it from my cousin's uncle's brother's stock broker, who is good friends with the mayor of Newark, who has Nets season tickets and overheard a conversation between a janitor and a ticket agent), so it's a no brainer that all we have to do is package Von Wafer, Sergio, Jack and 3 second round draft picks for Harris and Richard Jefferson -- honest.
/sarcasm.
On a more serious note, Harris has about as much of chance of being moved in a trade this offseason as Brandon Roy or LMA; NJ is in rebuilding mode, but they didn't go through all of that trouble trading Kidd for Harris unless they really think they have something long term.
Somehow I think the Blazers best bet is going to be trying to move Jarret Jack, packaged with our 13th overall and maybe some other "sweeteners" to try and get Westbrook (assuming he goes as high as 8th which some draft boards project him at), giving this team a likely 4 guard rotation of Blake/Westbrook/Roy/Rudy.

Re: The PG spot is the biggest need for the Blazers...
Here is a trade idea....
Blazers Trade
-Raef LaFrentz(EXPIRING)
-James Jones(Exercises Player Option)
-Jarrett Jack
-#13
Milwaukee Trades
-Mo Williams
-Desmond Mason(EXPIRING)
This deal nets us a major upgrade at PG. Williams is only 25, compliments Roy perfectly on offense and doesnt have an absurd contract(His 8.8M basically replaces Miles deal, leaving us with enough cap to sign a significant upgrade at SF if still needed). We then deal #33(NYK) and 3M to move up and draft a developmental SF for depth(Brandon Rush, Tyler Smith, Bill Walker or Courthey Lee), use #34(MEM) on rugged developmental PF/C Nathan Jawai.
2008/09 Blazers
PG- Mo Williams/Steve Blake/(Brandon Roy)/Sergio Rodriguez
SG- Brandon Roy/Rudy Fernandez
SF- Martell Webster/Travis Outlaw/Desmond Mason
PF- LaMarcus Aldridge/Channing Frye/(Travis Outlaw)
C- Greg Oden/Joel Pryzbilla
D-League: Developmental SF(Brandon Rush/Tyler Smith/Bill Walker/Courtney Lee), Josh McRoberts
Europe: Petteri Koponen, Joel Freeland, Nathan Jawai

Williams is more of a SG trapped in a PG body.

Re: The PG spot is the biggest need for the Blazers...
I'd rather either not do anything at all. And keep Blake and Jack as our PGs. And let Oden and Rudy come over and work them in.
Or just adress it through draft. I would hate to trade more then 2 of our players, and i would hate to have to recieve a huge contract in return. I'd just want to move up in the draft for Westbrook or Bayless or even Gordon.
I would definitely not want to do anything else. We are a 40 win team without Oden and Rudy. Those 2 get us to 50 wins by themselves. My dream situation would be just to move up to the #9 slot (4 picks up) by trading, lets say Jack, LaFrentz, cash, 2nd, #13 pick (maybe a future pick) and snatch Westbrook. Then just work him in and leave the team be..
Edit - of course there are exceptions like a sign and trade for Monte Ellis.

I also would prefer to wait and use what we have. I wouldn't mind taking trying for a project PG in the draft if we could get a solid one (Westbrook). However, I think the real show will begin in 2009--someone good will be available.

Do nothing but PLEEEEASE ...GET RID OF JACK. Its addition by subtraction. God knows, we will have less turnovers next year if Jack is on another team. The only way for Nate to play him less is for KP to trade Jack.

Re: The PG spot is the biggest need for the Blazers...
Collison got owned in the tourny. Proved that he is too small. He will be an average backup in the NBA. ROse abused him. The UCLA team played much better with Westbrook running the point and more offense on there, when Collison got into foul trouble.
