Re: The PG spot is the biggest need for the Blazers...
I Agree With You I Loooove Blake And Have Nothing Against Jack Really But We Need A Starter Not 2 Bench Guys And Of The 2 I Like Blake Better To Come Off The Bench...so Bye Bye Jack
And I Like Westbrook But He Is More Of A 2 In A 1s Body...in My Eyes..
Re: The PG spot is the biggest need for the Blazers...
I understand what you are saying.
In my opinion, i don't think we need a pure PG. I think we need one with good size, length and speed and good defense for playoff matchups vs. Parker and Paul. Then we need someone to help us get points in the fast break (since we are one of the worst fast break teams in the NBA). And then we need someone with a PG mentality, with ball skills, but someone who can also play off the ball when Roy takes the PG duties. And finally, someone who can create for himself and others... drive and shoot.
That would be my perfect PG. Someone like Harris is somebody who fits that. In my eyes, someone like Westbrook will most likely fit that also.

Ehh Dooling is avg. at best. I would rather draft Westbrook and gamble on a rookie.
Re: The PG spot is the biggest need for the Blazers...
i know he has a scary history, but...... TJ FORD! he will most likely be avaliable on the cheap, especially if calderon ends up with a big contract. He is a great facilitator, and also a great scorer. i think if we could get him for frye and jack, we should do it. he is above average, and that should be good enough to get us to the next level.

Will be one of the best backup PGs in the NBA, imo.Just like Pryz will be the best backup center in the NBA, and Rudy one of the best backup SGs in the NBA and Outlaw one of the best backup SFs in the NBA. sick bench.

I don't think we could get him for just Frye and Jack, but it would be worth pursuing. Toronto looks like it could use help at the 2 and 3, plus a replacement backup point. Jack and Webster, or Jack and Outlaw might fit that. If they really wanted Frye, then so be it.
The point is, Portland could make an offer that Toronto should be tempted by. Whether that price is too high for TJ Ford is a different question.

I woulden't offer Webster or Outlaw. TJ Fords trade value is down becouse he has a history of injurys. I would do Jack, Frye and two 2nd round picks.
Re: The PG spot is the biggest need for the Blazers...
I would almost rather have Baren Davis for this team than haveing TJ Ford. They are both injury prone players but Baren has shown he can play with injurys when the game really counts.
Re: The PG spot is the biggest need for the Blazers...
It's going to be an interesting off-season. While KP was sitting with the Mikes in the booth tonight, one of the guys asked him what KP thought of his PG situation, and understandably he was very diplomatic in explaining that there were parts of each guys games that he loved ... which was the non-answer way of saying that he recognizes that it's an area of deficiency and will be addressed.
