Greg Anthony voted for Lamarcus for MIP

I was listening to ESPN radio this morning and Mike Tirico had Greg Anthony on to speak about his votes for NBA awards. Mike asked Greg if Hedo is most improved player but Greg said he voted for Lamarcus and pointed out the improvement the Blazers and Lamarcus made. I took it as Lamarcus truly improved himself and the team. In contrast to Hedo, who may have just benefited from a different team/system. It was nice Lamarcus got some national recognition.

I would bet Hedo gets it.

Although it would be kind of cool to see Roy get ROY in 07, LaMarcus get Most improved (MIP sounds too much like minor in possession) and Greg get ROY in 09.

Wouldn't that be pretty funny?

Re: Greg Anthony voted for Lamarcus for MIP

this will be the year of obligatory awards

kobe will get the mvp not only because he "earned" it but because he hasnt gotten it yet and chris paul will have a few more years to get his.
turk will get the mip since he was shafted from this year's all star team and for having such a tremendous season
durant.. well.. what can i say

Re: Greg Anthony voted for Lamarcus for MIP

I don't have a problem with Turk getting the MIP ... frankly the guy had a just phenomenal season after 8 years in the league and the jump was impossible to foresee.

LMA will get his when he starts making trips to the All-Star game in a couple of years and is consistently getting 22 ppg, and 8 boards.

Turk deserves the award, but I think LMA and Kaman got overlooked abit on this one.

Re: Greg Anthony voted for Lamarcus for MIP

Kaman is definitely the sleeper pick. He's almost as deserving.
