I'll agree on Toronto but you're wrong about Philly.

Their season has basically been your season but in reverse. They started off fairly slowly and had a mediocre first-half (held in the playoff race by the mediocrity of the rest of the conference), but really came alive in the second-half of the season. They went on playing a great stretch of basketball where they were winning probably 80% for a period of bout 20-25 games or so. They were pretty much the "surprise, young team" to pick up where the Blazers left off.

Re: NBA playoffs thread

as long as its not bos vs la in the final, or any combo that has la/bos in it i will be happy. The media would be unwatchable for just the hype of the "ole" days in the 80s, blah! magic/bird reborn blah, nba seriously needs some new blood in the final, not the same retreads.

Re: NBA playoffs thread

Re-Seed the playoffs! The top 16 teams should make it! And I don't care if that means The Suns play the Lakers in the Finals!

Re: NBA playoffs thread

Why is Andrea Bargnani in the NBA?

Billed as the next Dirk, he's more like a starving man's Memet Okur, minus the rebounding, defense, mid-range game, and toughness.

Wow..

Re: NBA playoffs thread

Amare, who had microfracture on both knees, looks very explosive against the Spurs. Watching him makes my Oden-worries go away.

D-Howard with another 20+ pts 20+ rebound game. Andrea Punani is unbelievably soft.

Re: NBA playoffs thread

Wow the influence of the flop can not be denied at the end of the games. It's like every Euro grew up watching Dennis Rodman tapes. Kirilenko last night and Calderon tonight. Both calls down the stretch, both offensive fouls, both extended "hands to the face". What happened to letting them play at the end of a playoff game?

Re: NBA playoffs thread

These playoffs remind me how much I hate San Antonio... those guys just flop every second that they can especially Ginobili. Man, that guy gets hit with a truck with every contact he gets. It's incredible.
I hate the Spurs.

Re: NBA playoffs thread

The best game last night was the one few people saw, Toronto/Orlando on NBA TV. Tough loss for the Raps; they had two chances at a game winning shot but couldn't get a good look. Great game by Dwight Howard.

Dallas is getting the collar but good. They were supposed to be on a mission after last year's playoff embarrassment; they blow a big lead in Game 1 and get killed in Game 2. At least Toronto, Dallas, and Phoenix are going home. Houston gets to hit the road 0-2.

Whatever else you can say about San Antonio, they do get it done when it matters.

Love it how after ONE game of ONE series people are ready to crown the Lakers and Celtics. Wishful thinking indeed!
