Or not since this article appeared in Sunday's paper. Poor editing is a more likely culprit.

we had to wait until the last week of May 2007 to find out we had the #1 pick.
we had to wait another month to know for sure we were taking Oden.
we had to wait forever for summer league to just get a glimpse of Oden in a game.
he gets shut down for the year and now we're waiting until October 2008 for him to actually play an NBA game.
a year and a half of waiting to finally see Oden in a Blazer jersey in a real NBA game.
meanwhile, Los Angeles decides on a Tuesday they want to trade a folding chair for Pau Gasol, and he gets FedEx'ed Priority Overnight to start playing on Wednesday.
*sigh*
the easiest thing in the world is to be a Lakers fan.

May 20th is the date of this year's draft lottery. I'm guessing they originally planned to run this article (or a similar one) on lottery day.
