I have a "What if" question for Portland Fans
It is clear that Portland is on a huge upswing at the moment with the youth movement. We have Aldridge, Roy, Oden all projected to be starters next season, we're light at SF, but Martell has shown promise with Jones coming off the bench providing that spark. The big question is PG for next season, our current rotation at the position are rated by many as nothing more than back ups at best.
Here is the question for you, what if Portland was able to land a All Star PG for cheap, like say Jack, Outlaw, and our pick. Just throwing it out there to see which PG you would chose if all the deals had the same going out from Portland, I know that salaries don't match so just go with it.
Who fits out teams time line better?

Gilbert Arenas is NOT a point guard--he's a chucker.

You just simply cant pass up Nash, despite his age. You just cant.

Arenas because he's young enough that he'll still be around his prime when we start contending for championships.

Steve Nash. He brings experience to our team and any young PG we'd want to build up. By the time he's done in 2-3 years, we'll be a much better team.

So you'd want more talent now for a shorter time than have a talent grow with the team? It would be very hard to pass up on Nash and I was going to add Harris to this list, but I totally spaced him. He is one year younger than Arenas and is more of a PG than a combo "CHUCKER".
See I'm thinking that while Nash is great now, this team is going to be peaking when he is on his way out. He would make us better now. It really is a tough call.

Re: I have a "What if" question for Portland Fans
I really think that there isn't a wrong answer to this one, all of them would be an upgrade for the roster. Arenas and Roy would be a wild combo back court, Nash would be handing out assist like candy, Davis would be a tough PG.
Nash being older and the team just not there yet kinda makes me lean away from him, Davis isn't my type of point guard, but he is an upgrade, and Arenas has a wild swagger to him that might be good for this team or it could be a horrid problem.

Re: I have a "What if" question for Portland Fans
Of those three I'd rule out Gilbert immediately. As someone so eloquently put it, he's a chucker and that's the last thing this team needs. I consider him less of a PG than Roy.
Baron Davis is a big upgrade. He's tough and big for a PG and doesn't mind going inside.
But I'd take Nash over them in a heartbeat. Nash's game seems like it could continue to do well for several years to come, despite his age. He'd have a ton of experience, he'd still be excellent at passing and seeing the floor, he's a leader, he's a great shooter but doesn't need to shoot to be effective, and he's a point guard who doesn't feel compelled to dribble around meaninglessly for 20 seconds, choosing instead to keep the ball moving and get others involved. He's not the best at defense, and sometimes he makes ill-advised passes, but I'd take him over the other two in a heart-beat.

You left off Jason Kidd and AI. They may also be available at the end of the year.
Of the three above, I would take Agent Zero. We actually kind of need a chucker.

I was trying to list guys that were different in age to see if talent played out more than age with fans. If they were all the same age I'd take Nash without missing a beat. I added Agent 0 to the mix due to his age, might have been better to add Devin Harris who is just one year younger.
Any of the three would be an upgrade and have Agent 0 with Roy would be fun to watch, but then what happens with Rudy. Maybe Davis is the better choice since he is a big PG and that goes a long way, he is young enough to still be good when this team is peaking.
