What about targeting him this offseason as a PG. He is listed as a SG but has been playing PG all year and doing a very good job. He is a very good defender, can score in bunches although he can't hit from the outside. He can play off the ball or handle the ballhandling duties which would work well with Roy. As I said, his outside shot is his one big drawback, but this is only his first year in the league so I expect that to come soon enough.

He could probably be had for a lot less than many of the other people we have been discussing, but he still would not be free. He would backup Blake to start with, and as he progressed, hopefully he could take over the starting job.

Just a thought.

I honestly know almost nothing about his game ... scratch that, I know absolutely nothing about his game, so I won't comment about his suitability for this team, but if KP is going to shoot for a guy with "upside" who needs development that can play D and play off-ball then I think I'd rather see KP go after Russell Westbrook hard this June; who I think also shouldn't be impossible to get with the right mix of picks and players.

Personally I'm still leaning more toward a real upgrade, by trading for real talent; even if that means using Outlaw, as a centerpiece with Raef's big expiring deal to make the salaries work.

When he's played with the second unit, he's actually usually best when he has the ball so he can either set up a teammate or go in for a drive. When he plays off the ball with Billups, his strengths are somewhat neutralized because he has a poor jumpshot. He isn't a pure distributor, really, and I don't think he'd be great playing off the ball with Roy.

Dumars and everyone in Detroit loves him, and he looks to be Billups' successor in the future. You'd need a pretty attractive offer to get him.

I think it will depend on what happens in the playoffs. I do think that Dumars is one of the best GM's in the league, so I don't think he would give Stucky away, but I think Dumars would closely look at how the team constructed, and if they can be improved via trade. Dumars will make a trade if he feels it benefits his team (as a good GM should). I am not exactly sure what holes need to be filled, but lord knows we have a lot of pieces. I also don't know if we would be willing to offer what it would take, but to suggest that it just ain't gonna happen is silly. Stucky is far from 'off the table' should the right trade come along. I will add, I think there are a lot of other GM's in the league that KP could dominate and dupe into some pretty bad trades, but Dumars is not one of them. He has been so solid for so long and seems to have a very good grasp on how to construct a team.


As far as Stucky fitting with the Blazers, I really have not seen enough of him to say that he will be a good match, I was just very impressed with his vision, slashing, driving and defense in a recent game. As for his shooting, he was pretty good in college, so I suspect that his shooting will return and he will end up extending his range over the next few years. His FT% is 81% which is often an indicator in younger players that they will turn into good shooters down the line. I just have a feeling that he could be had for the right price this year, and that next year his asking price will be twice as high. He really seems like a kid who will live up to his potential.

Then go watch. Pretty much most basketball players dribbling the ball sound the same. The one difference you will notice there is no groan of the crowd after Jack turns over the ball when you are listening to Stucky.

Stucky is a good player I would love to get on the team.

I love Stucky. In fact, I would deal #13 for him. But, Detroit would not do that deal. He is a bull. Think of a bigger Billups with less of a J. Great defensivley, very tough.

On top of this, he is a great defender. Jack is a decent defender at best. Stucky is a 6'5" player who is athletic enough to keep up with the small speedy PG's of the league.
