OT: Jon Bon Jovi wants to own a sports team...
It would cool to see him bring a NHL or a baseball team to Portland to go with the Blazers. I don't think Portland could handle an NFL team though. Isen't Bon Jovi from around here?

Bon Jovi is a native of New Jersey. He owns the Arena Football team there. Which is a sports team if I recall correctly

It would be more like a NFL team for Oregon. If Green Bay can support a football team, what makes you think Portland can't? The Portland/Vancouver area and their suburbs could definitely support a NFL team. With the popularity of football, this is not hard.
We can only dream though. The next NFL city is probably Los Angeles.

I just don't think we are big enough to support an NFL team in Portland. I could be wrong though.

How many markets in the NFL are smaller then us? Green Bay, Kansas City, St. Loius, Tampa Bay? In this case I don't think size matters!

These days . . . I think you almost need to build the stadium first and then try to lure a franchise (new or move one).
In Oregon, I don't see any measure for public funding of a stadium being passed.

NFL almost made it to Oregon several years ago. The games were going to be played at Autzen while a stadium was built in Portland.

Re: Jon Bon Jovi wants to own a sports team...
I think I heard somewhere that Portland is the largest city with only one major pro sports fanchises, I dont know how accurate that is though. Portland isnt a NFL city though, as much as it pains me to say that, we are much more likly to get a MLB team first.... Uggg
