I do not like this idea of battier because even though hes a good decent player he is average, old, I would be Livid at the organization if we gave up outlaw for a player I feel is Mr.Average.

I believe Childress is a restricted free agent (or he might be unrestricted I can't recall).

As for Battier I think the genesis of this thread comes from a comment that Jason Quick made a few days ago about overhearing a conversation at a restaurant last year between Houston execs, and how they kept throwing Battier's name out there in relation to possibly trading him for Travis Outlaw.

Childress isn't that much of an upgrade at all. Getting him would be a lateral move if anything.

Battier is a super role player that we really could use, a clear upgrade.

I think Pritchard has his sights set on a Danny Granger type. A young vet with a high basketball IQ. Granger is a player K-Pritch went after this past deadline.

We'd have to give up a little bit to get Granger. These Calderon and Granger type players sound good if we could get them, but the only problem is that the team that they play for like them a lot. So were going to have to give up a little bit more then something like say, Jack and a pick.
