I think a lot of that national enthusiasm was driven by Oden vs Durant and the fact that Oden was coming in right after his college. I think a lot of the fervor was killed by Oden sitting on the bench for a year. I think the Blazers will get more televised games than this past year, but not as many as was scheduled last year prior to Oden going down. But this is just a guess, I really don't know.

Re: BRoy comparison
Actually, Roy reminds me of Tim Duncan. Old School. Strong Fundamentals.
Doesn't Rush. Didn't come out early.
Brandon Roy - The "Little Fundamental"
That's how I think of him, anyway.

In attitude and pace I think you are right, but their games are obviously nothing alike since they play completely different roles.
p.s., I hate nicknames with "little" or "baby" in it or some other diminutive form of some other player. Players are all unique even if their games have some similarities. That's why I don't like "baby shaq" or "French Jorden".

I still have to go with Dwyane Wade, but Johnson is almost the same IMO.

Roy is more clutch and a better leader, imo. I remember Roy single handedly beating the Hawks and defending Johnson on that last possession and forcing him into an airball.
Johnson is a better shooter, but i like Roys ability to get to the rim better.
But about the Hawks, they are sooo awesome to watch. I've always loved that team. They needed a PG and when they got Bibby that was perfect. They really under-achieved but i think now they are showin' what they can do.
I hope they beat Boston.

Roy shoots 45.5% for his career; Johnson shoots 44% and was under that number this season.

Ginobli doesn't take the ball up the court, however. He gets it typically on the wing and then either creates from there or shoots.
He also is utilized in a motion-type offense with multiple screens much more than Roy is.
Heck, Tony Parker actually reminds me somewhat of Roy, now that the Spurs have been mentioned. At least when Roy is running the point.

I don't see that at all. Parkers game is predicated on speed. Roy is far from a speedy player.

Re: BRoy comparison
I think it's a fair comparison, or at least that's exactly the first thought that came to my mind watching Joe Johnson. Never gets rattled, smooth and can rely on him not to panic.
I just we were in the playoffs so Brandon could finally show it off to the whole world.

Re: BRoy comparison
Joe Johnson is somewhat close for BRoy since they both can be unstoppable at the end of a game with the ball in their hands.
Martell reminds me of Devon George in this Mavs series. A SF with limited explosiveness that mostly hangs on the perimeter instead of making things happen.
