BRoy comparison
You know how people are always trying to compare a players' game to another. For instance LA's game is very similar to Sheed's in my opinion. I hope Greg's is like Dwight Howard. But last night while I was watching ATL beat the Celtics, it hit me that BRoy's game is very similar to Joe Johnson's. The way Joe handles the ball, takes it to the rack and pulls up for a quick J. BRoy, plays that same SMOOTH laid back way as JJ. Not a bad player to be compared to if you ask me!

Re: BRoy comparison
I have actually thought the same thing about Joe Johnson, of course there are some differences, I think Roy is a better ball handler and a worse shooter, but they both tend to play both sides of the court, run the team from SG and play at a medium pace. But I think that Roy is also a little better at inspiring those around him. I like JJ a lot and as far as players in the NBA right now, I think that might be the best comparison.

Re: BRoy comparison
Yeah, Johnson's crossovers and reapeatedly going around defenders in the pick and roll last night in the 4th quarter was reminiscent of Roy. They both aren't that explosive or quick- they're both just very skilled and smart.
Additionally, Joe was clutch last night and Boston couldn't stop him. Man, I can't wait til we make the playoffs. I hope Roy can do great in the playoffs.

Re: BRoy comparison
Yea, the comparison is there.
Roy is more clutch and a better leader, imo. I remember Roy single handedly beating the Hawks and defending Johnson on that last possession and forcing him into an airball.
Johnson is a better shooter, but i like Roys ability to get to the rim better.
But about the Hawks, they are sooo awesome to watch. I've always loved that team. They needed a PG and when they got Bibby that was perfect. They really under-achieved but i think now they are showin' what they can do.
I hope they beat Boston.

Re: BRoy comparison
I'm not comparing the 2 players. I'm just saying that more then any other player in the league, I think Joe Johnson's game is the closest thing to Brandon's.

I actually agree with this - with the proviso that Roy doesn't flop, and Roy looks a lot smoother. But both can create something out of nothing and pass really well.

Re: BRoy comparison
You think Joe would be a good addition to the Blazers? He's the only really good unrestricted free agent in 2009.

Only if he can play the three, I think that Brandon, Rudy, & Joe would be way to much of a good thing with only one ball. I do like Joe Johnson and Michael Redd, but now that we have Roy, what would you really do with them if you had them?

Re: BRoy comparison
Roy reminds me of Grant Hill in his prime. However, I think Brandon has a lot more ability to run the point than Hill ever did. Hill was a much better rebounder though.

Hill was also more athletic. More of a dunker.

Roy can throw down dunks just like Hill could, Roy just chooses not to. I'll have that dunk against the 76ers stuck in my head for a long time.

Re: BRoy comparison
I hope Greg is better than Dwight Howard who is overrated. People say he's like Shaq but Shaq was a much more imposing offensive force. He was impossible to stop. Dwight may grab some rebounds but it is possible to stop him offensively.
As for Roy, I don't know who to compare him to.
