I disagree. I think he either didn't have enough time to get good chemistry and perhaps just isn't a great fit. He is dropping off a bit, but he's still better than our PGs.

dallas was already having a bad season this year, but their season(and probably their future) ended when they made the trade for kidd.

I don't think you can put too much of the blame on Kidd. I think the whole team just isn't as good as New Orleans in general.
Henry Abbott wrote, "Chris Paul was, in the regular season, even better against Devin Harris than he was against Kidd. So while Kidd may not have been a magic ingredient for the Mavericks, I'm also not sure he was the problem."

I think it was a bad trade for the Mavs due to the age difference. But this year, I think Kidd gave them roughly as good of chance as Harris. I don't think Harris could have helped them win 3 more games in the series.

i don't believe henry abbott. i think he must be mistaken because i remember seeing that stats earlier in the series and they showed paul being much better against kidd than harris.
and kidd doesn't take all the blame for the mavs losing. howard, stack, and dampier deserve a lot of blame as well. the team would have been better with harris than kidd though.

Re: OT: Dallas should've kept Devin Harris
So, does Portland make a push to land Steve Nash now? Would he be better in Portland? Would you trade for him since it appears they are going to be looking to make some moves this off season? Is Nash to old to come to Portland? Just sayin

Re: OT: Dallas should've kept Devin Harris
I think they missed Diop. He gave them much needed depth at center.

No offense, I have more reason to believe Abbott than I do you. In any event, I checked out the splits. It's pretty close, but his stats do look better against Harris to me.

In any event, I don't think that the outcome of this series had much to do with kidd's defense versus harris' defense

Re: OT: Dallas should've kept Devin Harris
Josh Howard averaged 35 mpg, 13 ppg, 26% fg, and 13% 3fg during this playoff series.
yahtzee.

this season against the mavs with harris:
44.5 minutes, 27.5 points, 7.5 assists, 43.5% shooting
this season against the mavs with kidd:
39.7 minutes, 24.9 points, 11.6 assists, 51% shooting
those stats against harris don't look better to me.
i think the other stats i saw must have included previous years because they favored harris even more than that, but i'd say those are enough to easily prefer harris over kidd against paul. granted the sample size is small(especially in harris's case).

Re: OT: Dallas should've kept Devin Harris
Dallas wouldn't have won it anyway with or without Devin Harris.
All the good for us as I see Phoenix and Dallas now dipping into first-round and out teams with the Blazers rising to take their spot in the West.

Re: OT: Dallas should've kept Devin Harris
Dallas is stupid. Not only did they get rid of a good young PG..they gave away 2 picks, their young big, and took on a crap load of salary.
