Yeah, Kidd looks like he's 42. NJ made a GREAT deal.

Yep. It is a sad state of affairs what has happened to the Mavericks. They were so close to going up 3-0 on the Heat in the 06 Finals and now they're done. Beaten and demoralized. Sad. Doesn't look like Dirk or Nash will ever reach the Finals. They might've reached the Finals if they had stayed together though. We'll never know.

Re: OT: Dallas should've kept Devin Harris
You know what the Suns and Mavericks have to realize is that there was a REASON the Heat and Nets were sucking with Shaq and Kidd. The guys are past their prime and were doing nothing to help their teams win despite having Wade and Jefferson & Carter.

CHANGE YOUR AVATAR! NOW! Just sayin!!!!!
I agree, the Mavs made a dumb move. But the Mavs getting older only helps our Trail Blazers.

Re: OT: Dallas should've kept Devin Harris
Yeah the Mavs trade was dumb.
I still think the Shaq trade wasnt that bad, they didnt want Marion and his antics (or contract demands) and Shaq's deal expires the same year as Nash so they can go for free agents at that time. It was a better trade for Miami, and PHX should have insisted on a pick, but their trade wasnt as bad as the Mavs who gave up the young Harris and TWO future first rounders.

Re: OT: Dallas should've kept Devin Harris
it was really stupid that people thought somehow kidd was going to bring "toughness" to dallas and make them a better team. kidd is a bad player now. he's a liability on defense against playoff teams in the west and he's a liability on offense because he can't shoot.
the shaq trade was terrible too. the only team it could have potentially helped them against was the spurs and we all can see just how well that is working out.

Kidd is far from a liability, he just doesn't fit.

the other pgs in the playoffs in the west are paul, deron, parker, nash, iverson, fisher, and alston. he is a complete liability attempting to defend 5 of those 7. and then you factor in the fact that teams don't even pretend to worry about him shooting the ball because he can't consistently make shots and you have a guy i'd consider a liability. and i never even mentioned his turnovers.
kidd used to be a great player. now he's a guy who i would not want on my team.

Everyone in the league is a liability defending much of that group, including most of that group!

there are plenty of guys in the league that can at least make them work for their points. dallas had one of the best ones themselves in devin harris. and the other guys in that group at least can make their opponent work on defensively. kidd can't do that.
dallas was already having a bad season this year, but their season(and probably their future) ended when they made the trade for kidd.
