Kersey/Duckworth for Olajuwon
Anyone remember that rumor? I do. And I was totally against it. I loved Kersey and Duckworth so much that I was blind to see that the move for Olajuwon would've almost definitely won us championship (no?)
Anyway, I bring this up because I was against trading Outlaw for Harris but maybe that is what best. I love Outlaw to, but as a source of mine who is very close to the Blazers organization said, "There are a lot of Travis Outlaws. We need a PG."

No, and I really doubt the Rockets would have ever done that.
I do remember that the Sixers offered Charles Barkley for Porter, Kersey, and Duck.

Re: Kersey/Duckworth for Olajuwon
That seems reasonable to me, though I agree it's tough to part with players. The thing is, this team has amazing depth if no other moves are made and while depth is nice, it may be more important to settle for merely good depth and a stronger core at the top. And as your source says, this team needs a PG.

Trading one of the greatest players in NBA history for a decent center and a decent SF seems reasonable to you? Or were you just refering to trading depth for a star.....if you are able to

Ah, I remember those old trades. "I saw Patrick Ewing/Hakeem/Barkley" walking through Lake Oswego.

I'm happy to be me.
I'd like to say I made this, but I didn't

Nope. I don't remember any of those trade proposals.

I remember it like it was yesterday. Back when there was no internet and 1080 was worth a damn. I remember every summer from 90 to 95 I was glued to the radio waiting to hear if something had happened or if there were any new rumors.

It was more than that. It was Kersey, uncle Cliffy, another player and a pick. Barkley still jokes that Petrie owes him money for the plane ticket because Barkley wanted to come here so badly that he paid for it himself

Sorry I was vague but yeah, the second -- trading depth for a star.
