Blazers MVP season in review poll #3
Ya all have spoken and want more JOEL!
I skipped poll 1-2 because I figured the first two guys would obviously be #1 Roy, #2 LaMarcus.
So after that, who was the best player for our beloved Blazers during 2007-2008? Not who you think will be best next year, or who has the most trade value, or who you don't want to give up, but who had the best season for the team.
Think of it as similar to the NBA MVP voting but just for our team.
So now its your choice, Joel or Travis,

Joel, although I still think Aldridge > Roy.

Outlaw beyond a doubt. But is this even MVP anymore, thats the top spot, now we are just talking about next most useful player.

Roy is the most valuable player.
LMA is the 2nd most valuable.
So vote, who is;
Most 3rd Valuable Player. MVP #3
You can call it next most useful player after our second best player after our most valuable player if that is simpler.

Re: Blazers MVP season in review poll #3
I voted Travis, as I said earlier I thought Travis was clearly better, we needed someone to create offense at times and Travis stepped in. Joel also blew a number of close looks and passes inside, and we played very well with Frye in his place from time to time with a different kind of almost inverted offense. But Joel did provide an inside presence that we desperately needed this year without Oden.
Without Joel we would have been a small ball team with Frye, LMA and Travis serving as our big men. Our offense and defense would have looked totally different but I don't think our wins would have suffered terribly much, at least not as much as if Travis was instead subtracted from the group.

Re: Blazers MVP season in review poll #3
Code:
Rk Player Pos WS LS WSAA
1 Brandon Roy G 24 14 5.0
2 LaMarcus Aldridge F 19 17 1.0
3 Joel Przybilla C 13 5 4.0
4 Martell Webster G-F 11 13 -1.0
5 Steve Blake G 11 15 -2.0
6 James Jones F 11 5 3.0
7 Jarrett Jack G 10 17 -3.5
8 Channing Frye F-C 10 6 2.0
9 Travis Outlaw F 10 20 -5.0
10 Sergio Rodriguez G 2 8 -3.0
11 Raef LaFrentz F-C 2 1 0.5
12 Josh McRoberts F 0 0 0.0
13 Von Wafer G 0 1 -0.5
14 Taurean Green G 0 1 -0.5
WS-Win Share LS-Loss Shares WSAA-Win Shares Above Average((WS-LS)/2)
I would certainly put Joel above Outlaw at the #3 spot, and I probably wouldn't put the guy that has the highest Loss Shares on the team at #4 either, probably James Jones when he was healthy then Blake for his steady play at PG.
