Rudy Fernandez comparison?
I just can't figure it out. I was just watching some highlight clips and can't figure out who he compares to. Very athletic, Great shot, supreme vision and passing, but just mediocre ball handling skills. Rip perhaps? Manu? I just don't know.

Re: Rudy Fernandez comparison?
Brent Barry? (Maybe with a more versatile offensive arsenal, and a bit less athleticism.)

I don't think that Rudy has less athleticism (especially the Brent Barry of now).

There is a big big difference between the Brent of then and now. I do think that Rudy has comparable athleticism to the brent of back in the day. But, I think that Rudy is much more a playmaker.

Barry use to be great athlete. I remember watching that dunk competition when he won it.

Re: Rudy Fernandez comparison?
I've heard several people compare his game to Kevin Martin of Sacramento -- a guy who can really slash and really shoot. Sounds good to me...

Re: Rudy Fernandez comparison?
When watching him it is sort of like a prime Barry, lanky but athletic with a good shot and great vision. The court mentalities are very different though. Whereas Brent has always been that 3rd/4th option kind of guy, and has played that role at a very high and very efficient level for years, Rudy just has that 1st option/stardom level spark and it shows.

Re: Rudy Fernandez comparison?
I would say Brent is a good comparison, but I think Rudy is going to be a better mid-ranged shooter and much more of an 'instant offense' type than Barry ever was.

Re: Rudy Fernandez comparison?
I should point out that it wasn't that I thought Brent wasn't athletic, but I don't think Rudy is less athletic than him.

Somewhere between Rip Hamilton and Kevin Martin.

Re: Rudy Fernandez comparison?
Anyone else think Barry was an under-achiever? He had PG skills, good ball handler, very athletic, great outside shot, high Bball IQ, but never averaged more than 15ppg.
