No, he didn't. That was Martell Webster.

I'm pretty sure he was refering to the Dec 21st game when Roy blocked Melo's shot on Denver's 2nd to last possession... recalling that Outlaw blocked Kleiza on the last play, I doubt that Webster was even in at the end of that game.
Carmelo is one of the smaller starting SFs in the league... one of the few that I'm comfortable with Roy matching up against.

6' 8'' and 230 pounds is small for a starting SF??!? He has the same body as LeBron. How is that small?

At the same time, I think the point made before was valid. There were many games this season, where Martell busted his *** all game long defending the best player on the opposing team and doing a great job on them, and then Roy was swapped over in the last couple minutes of the game. One in particular with Cleveland I was totally pissed they moved Martell off of Lebron during the final few minutes. Needless to say, Lebron went off and the Blazers lost. It also happened against Houston with Tmac.
Now as for Roy blocking a shot at the end of the game. That is nice. Travis Outlaw blocked a shot at the end of the game too, but I don't think that anybody would mistake him for a good defender for his position.

I don't think much of Martell's D at all... I rate him as a bit below average right about the same as Travis. Being a bit undersized at the 3 and not particularly quick or instinctive, he's looking up at OK IMO. I'm not for dumping him necessarily, but I'd definitely like to see an upgrade at the starting 3 spot at least until his game takes a few steps forward.
Options abound, but James Posey sure seems like he'd be a nice attainable stop gap.
btw... in the game in question Carmelo scored 34 points and had 12 boards.

Re: Jose Manuel Calderon's Blog
I think people get way too analytical about if a player is a SG or SF. In basketball, there really isn't much difference. Put Calderone, Roy, Rudy, LA, and Oden on the floor at the same time and you have a kick-*** unit. No one will notice that "roy is an inch shorter than average".

Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

True. The outside shooting would be amazing. I didn't like the thought of Roy at the SF because I pictured mismatches with all of the taller SFs in the league. But, in reality, there aren't that many really tall SFs, even though it looked like it was heading that way. KG has moved back to the post. If you look at the top SF (by PER), then you get LeBron (nothing to do about that), Walton, Prince, Kapono, Peja, Butler, Young, Wright, Posey, Pierce, Kleiza, Hedo, and Anthony. I don't think anyone of those (other than James) is going to abuse Roy as much as Roy would abuse them.

the obvious counter to that is that switches often happen on defense... sometimes several times within the same defensive set. Never mind whether you feel that Roy can cover SFs, how do you feel about him covering PFs? Teams would focus on forcing this mismatch as long as Nate would let it go.
Thats not to say I wouldn't love to add Calderon, but I very much doubt this would be the starting/primary lineup they'd go with.

Re: Jose Manuel Calderon's Blog
Quality free agents always claim that they'll sign elsewhere for less money. It's called leverage. Caulderon probably wants a big contract, and assurances of playing time.
Toronto will be forced to deal TJ Ford.
