Re: OT: Dwight Howard
I highly doubt Howard grew. Seeing him in Portland up close standing next to LaMarcus ALdridge, who's a full 6'11" btw, he was visibly shorter than LaMarcus. Seeing them next to eachother I thought to myself "how the hell are both of these guys listed at 6'11" when one looks about 2 inches shorter?"

Re: OT: Dwight Howard
There's none of those corny, fruitcake NBA.com studio pictures of, like, Hedo and Dwight with their backs together and their arms crossed smiling at the camera in their Magic uniforms, is there? I can't find any.

Re: OT: Dwight Howard
They're close height wise (Hedo is a legit 6'10), but Dwight is taller by a tad.

You'll also find the research indicates that a guys rate of growth is typically slowing down significantly as they approach this age.

Hey, I don't dispute anything you say, I'm just going by what I've heard and what I myself have experienced.
With NBA players, though, I'd imagine the chances for growth at a later age given their genetics and god given physical traits.

Re: OT: Dwight Howard
I stopped growing in when I was 14, but I have a cousin who grew from 6'1" to 6'9 during his first three years at college, including a 4 inch growth spurt during winter term of his freshman year. Crazy things happen sometimes, but I have no idea how common that is. I know that Outlaw sure seems like a legit 6'9" now, but when he came into the league seemed a lot shorter.

Re: OT: Dwight Howard
Thiss thread went way off topic. That said, pictures like these are never a good indicator, because one person may be further back than the other so it could be deceiving to the naked eye

If you watch Howard last year and this year, he has improved by quite a large margin. His touch around the basket is much improved and can score via the hook or bank shot instead of simply dunking. He is also a lot better this year at passing out of double teams.

Dwight's rookie year:
12pts, 10reb, 1.7blks in 33min
If healthy, and averaging that many minutes for the season, I would disappointed if Oden has those stats. I fully expect better numbers. Especially Points and Blocks.
