Re: So, Kiki's The Nets New GM
Apparently Carmelo was speeding again (although not a huge issue..although in most cases if you're fudging the speed limit by 15, you should be where the speed limit is like 65 or 70 and not 40-45.) but considering it came on the heals of him getting a dui (?), I'd say it's a bit of a dumb move.
It's so nice to not have had anything happen to a Blazer player in the last year ain't it? d'oh diddy d'oh doh....d'oh d'oh!

Truer words have not been said. Finally, we have talented players that we can be proud of and who are in embarassing headlines.

I'll be interested to hear how this story with Jefferson plays out. Unlike with many such stories, I'm finding the player's side of it pretty believable.

If Jefferson is cleared, I wonder what it would take to get both Jefferson and Harris. If the Blazers could work something where they got the two of them while also retaining the Big Three plus, say, Fernandez, Przybilla, Blake, and either Webster or Outlaw.... Let's that'd still leave W/O, Frye, Jack, Jones, Rodriguez, a 1st round pick, a bunch of 2nd round picks, LaFrentz and his contract, cash, various youngsters.... I don't know if there's enough there of what the Nets would want, but there's at least a fair bit to work with.

i wouldn't call that "a fair bit." more like sending them our left overs. harris and jefferson are two of the 3 top players on their team. the players you want to send to them to get jefferson and harris are all deep bench players. i think that's far from fair.

My thinking was the exact opposite. Rod Thorn apparently really loves Jarrett Jack, which made trading for Harris in the offseason a posibility, but I don't think Kiki would even consider Jack.

Re: So, Kiki's The Nets New GM
^thats possible also.
I see it as more of a possibility now I guess, but i can see the other way of thinkin' also.
It would require Outlaw, Jack, pick, cash and probably Lafrentz for Harris and a big contract. Maybe even more, so idk.

Re: So, Kiki's The Nets New GM
Sigh* once again Thorn might have liked Jack when the Harris trade was not possible but as of now Harris is NOT going anywhere. Harris is untouchable

NJ would be very foolish to trade him. We can dream though, can't we?

Re: So, Kiki's The Nets New GM
Sigh* once again, where is even one report, quote, or blurb to support the know-it-all posters who claim Harris is untouchable and suddenly worth so much more than he was a few months ago? They don't exist because its only true in a few fans heads. I beleive Chad Ford more than I do random Internet posters.
Harris will be 26 next season, he's not and will never be Chris Paul.

Re: So, Kiki's The Nets New GM
Maybe because I have watched 90% of Nets games this season, or because the fact that I have seen Harris prove his mettle to Nets brass every single game he has played in a Nets uniform or the fact that he is one OF the best young point guards in the game, and probably could be considered the best point guard in the East. Why in the world would the Nets downgrade when Harris was their prize catch in the Kidd deal. It makes absolutely no sense. By the way if you are looking for a blurb or quote, might wanna send a note to Dave D'Allessandro or Matt Mcqueenie, two guys who cover the Nets extensively. Ask them if there are any chances of Harris getting traded?
