I miss Ime
Watching Ime play defense and knock down three's, I'm really wishing he was still a Blazer. I'm happy for him though. I'm definitely not wanting to see the Spurs in the finals again, but if they end up there I hope Ime gets himself a ring.
They just talked about his road to the NBA and they didn't mention his time with the Blazers. Lame.

Blazers let him go. Lame.

Re: I miss Ime
The Blazers let him go because his agent had some crazy monetary demands. I am willing to bet that if he was willing to take the amount he finally got from San Antonio - he would have stayed.
But, in the end, it probably worked best for both parties. We love Ime and he got a chance to get a ring - something I am not sure he would have got if he stayed with Portland - by the time the team is ready to contend - he might not be around anymore. And... the time he vacated allowed Travis and Martel to get some minutes - which they both needed for their progress.

He'll be at home watching the finals on TV like the rest of us soon enough.

That's the official history (similar to, Sheed wanted to be traded), but it's wrong. That was just an initial negotiating position, put on the table with expectation of compromise. The real reason the Blazers let him go was to see what Outlaw and Webster could do. I hope they now let a PG go to see what Sergio can do.

We've seen what Sergio can do - and more importantly what he can't (make a shot or play defense). I agree, we should let a PG go - as long as it's Sergio.

Re: I miss Ime
Hey I just wanted to give some props to Ime for his game last night. It was great to see him make some noise in the playoffs, he had a tremendous impact on the game last night, and played with that "playoff intensity" that you want to see out of players.

Re: I miss Ime
Ime is a nice role player to have on your bench, but what was he doing taking shots off the dribble in crunch time?
That is not his role.

Well, no one else was hitting shots either.

Re: I miss Ime
Ime didn't play all that well in the playoffs (or regular season for that matter) until the 3rd game of the Hornets series. He was great team player, but a healthy James Jones is a much better fit for this squad.

Re: I miss Ime
I don't care if your stars are 1-20 they need to take the tough shots down the stretch. Ime is a limited offensive player.

Re: I miss Ime
I guess I'll go out on a limb and say I don't miss Ime one bit. He was completely expendable, and his play last night (offensively and defensively and in crunch time) reinforced my view that he's nothing special.
