Early draft stock indicator: physicals only list
Last year, there were 19 guys on the physicals only list for the Orlando pre-draft camp. The first 16 picks were all on the list and 18 of the 19 went in the top 20 picks. (Josh McRoberts was the only one who didn't. Sean Williams and Marco Belinelli were the only two not on the list to go in the top 20.) It's a great measure of who the scouts/gm's believe will be off the board first.
Here they are:
Joe Alexander
Darrell Arthur
D.J. Augustin
Jerryd Bayless
Michael Beasley
Eric Gordon
Donte Greene
DeAndre Jordan
Brook Lopez
Kevin Love
O.J. Mayo
JaVale McGee
Anthony Randolph
Derrick Rose
Russell Westbrook
So...15 on that list. If we keep the pick, and things go as planned, we'd have 3 options from the list (though probably 4, since Gallinari will likely go top 12.) Any guesses as to which would be on the board?

Re: Early draft stock indicator: physicals only list
My guess as to which 4 may be on the board:
McGee
Arthur
Love
Greene

Re: Early draft stock indicator: physicals only list
We gotta take Westbrook (if avail) or Alexander.
If both are taken, I would take Donte Green.

You're absolutely underrating Love.
Even if YOU don't like him as a prospect, you have to admit that he'll go top 10. I think he'll end up going top 5 when all is said and done. Maybe even 3rd.

Which would only further demonstrate that Kevin McHale shouldn't be allowed to run a team ...

the reported rumors are that he'll trade down and select Love later in the lotto. Personally I think a Love-Jefferson frontcourt tandem makes some sense. AJ is a beast on the low block, while with his passing and sweet jumper KL is a natural high post player. OJ seems to be the consensus #3 and starting two 6'2 combo guards (Mayo & Foye) doesn't seem to make much sense.
I've said this before... because I don't see team needs lining up with the available talent in this draft very well, I expect this draft to feature a ton of trades.

LOL yay!!!! for us STOMP we agree on this. I can see them taking Mayo though as well. He and Foye would be a lot like the backcourt in Boston's glory days of Ainge and DJ. Two combo guards that can both handle the ball, shoot and penetrate.
Regardless, I think there will be a lot of trading in this draft. I also think the "copycat" aspect will come into play a bit too. Sports teams love to do what others that are successful do. KP has shown through trading in the draft that you can add a lot of talent. I think more teams will start to do this as well.

Which would be fine, but the article I read on draft-express seemed to indicate that McHale is considering spending the 3rd overall on Love ... I don't care how much you like a guy, Love is not the 3rd best player in this year's draft.
Then again I hope McHale does burn the third pick on Love, because that just pushes more talented players farther down the list.
