Re: I hate Mayo

I dont see Randolph turning into an effective SF. He has as good a J as Josh McRoberts and weighs 190lbs. He is a 3 year project player.

197 lbs actually... adding weight/strength down the line is about the last thing I'm concerned about a prospect doing. Yes he'll take a bit of developing, but Portland doesn't have any glaring holes on the roster that absolutely have to be patched by opening day. The only reason he slips past the first 5 picks is because he's not ready for prime time yet. He ran and jumped well, excels at defense, has great length, and I love that he has a good handle. In 3 years I'm betting he'll be thought of as one of the top 5 players in this draft.

Re: I hate Mayo

Rumor has it that Mayo might try to shun the smaller market teams in order to land in a big market. I have no idea how much truth there is to that, but if there is any truth to it, I view that sort of thing as a mark against him:

Quote:
Mayo has reportedly yet to schedule even a single workout, and will probably do so after he officially hires his new agent. We’ve been told by several sources that Mayo may try to pull a Yi Jianlian and only work out for Chicago, Miami, New York and Los Angeles, while shunning the smaller market teams such as Minnesota, Seattle and Memphis. Things could certainly change as the draft develops over the next few weeks.

Re: I hate Mayo

If he does go only to the big markets to workout, then I'm going to nickname him "Cha-Ching" for the rest of his career. Cha-Ching Mayo. Or maybe OJ Cha-Ching.
