Post Your Crazy Trades
All throughout the year there are lots of trade ideas thrown around, but nothing more frequently than around the draft. What do you hope (but realistically) will happen.
Here is what I WANT:
Mike Miller + #5 Pick. Reason - If we really are set on someone like Westbrook, then we can't afford the idea that he'll slip to LAC. Memphis is in rebuilding phase, so they'll be willing to take younger pieces. Mike Miller has a very affordable contract and is a shooter...someone who can space the floor and knock down open shots available from the coverage Roy, Oden and Aldridge will demand. He's been the perfect fit, IMO, for quite some time (although he's not the best defender).
What can we give up? Any combination of #13, Jack, Frye, Pryzbilla, Outlaw, Webster, etc.
Minnesota has enough PG's and need swing/front court help. Outlaw + Pryzbilla + 13 for Miller and #5
Is this fair? Would you agree to it?
Give me feedback and post your trade too!

Fair my ***. Be prepared for some bashing my Memphis fans, because that is just terrible for them.

Re: Post Your Crazy Trades
I hear you about Westbrook and needing to trade up if that's the plan, but Mike Miller? I don't think he's much of an improvement over Webster offensively, I don't think he's as good defensively, and he's older. Pretty much the same can be said with Outlaw. And yeah, that's part of your plan to pry the 5th pick free but I suspect there are other ways of getting there (and as B-Roy suggests, I suspect it may not be enough for the 5th).
Edit: I'd also be really really hesitant to part with Przybilla. That said, I may be over-valuing our players and undervaluing theirs. Fans tend to do that. And I wonder how the Memphis fans felt about the Gasol trade -- clearly what fans think only barely (if at all) factors in to how most decisions are made. On the whole, though, I don't much like the trade from either side at this point. Sorry. I'll try to come up with some kind of counter proposal as I have time.

Re: Post Your Crazy Trades
I thought Pryz might be attractive due to his good contract and they really need a center to play...they lack decent bigs. Clearly they covet Outlaw...IDK, I'm not saying more couldn't be added to the deal, but I thought of it as a starting point.
Mike Miller is a very good shooter, a very good PASSER (~5 assists), and he's a proven commodity's. If Rudy or Roy we're 2 inches taller this probably wouldn't be an issue, but neither can be expected to play SF full-time.

I think Roy can be expected to play 10 minutes a game at SF most nights and, more the point, at this point I think I'd take any of Webster, Outlaw, or Jones over Miller, though I confess I hadn't realized he was as good a passer as he is -- ESPN lists him at 3.4 this season and 3.0 for his career, fwiw -- not 5 but still better than the 1-ish that Webster, Outlaw, and Jones all average.

Yeah my bad...it isn't quite that high. Although early last season when Pau was out and Miller had the ball a lot, he created more and did have I think a 5-assist average at some point into the season. He's a pretty good player IMO, and if we could shore up SF with him and PG in the draft, then that would make us complete. Trade any redundant parts (Jones/Outlaw/Webster/Frye/Pryzbilla/Jack/Sergio) necessary.

I still don't see him as an improvement over any of Webster, Outlaw, or Jones -- I'd take all three of them over Miller individually, though I conceed that a better combination of skill sets might be possible with Miller in the mix. He is well ahead of all of those three both as a passer and more generally as a ball-handler, which might be nice with Roy and Fernandez in the backcourt together.
That said, I still cringe not so much at the thought of adding Miller but at the thought of parting with any of Webster, Outlaw, Jones, or even Frye (if the log-jam were solved by moving Outlaw to PF more or less full time).
If I were really trying to bring in Miller, painful as it would be, I'd probably move Outlaw, if only because he's probably have the highest return value.

Sure, if Outlaw or Webster actually pan out then that is great. But Miller has shown he is easily capable of being a 18-20 PPG Scorer...after Aldridge, Roy, Oden....that can either fill in during an injury or tear it up regardless. I wouldn't be crying if we got Miller and the #5 if we had to move any of #13, Outlaw, Pryz, Jack, Jones, Webster, Sergio, Frye....Clearly it'd only be three of those guys but it'd probably be worth it. Miller is a good third option on any team. Amazing if he's the fourth option. We can make it happen....obviously.
