The Mike Barret Interview
Can't help but get excited whenever Mike Barrett talks Blazers. That is his job. However that 30 minute interview got me pumped: http://blog.oregonlive.com/blazers/2..._to_catch.html
They all seem pretty sure Rudy can get minutes at all three positions. My only concern will be team chemistry whith the trickle down effect from lack of minutes. The minutes he takes away from the previous back up SG is not a concern, and Steve Blake will be OK with sharing his minutes. I can't wait to see if he really can play the point. I doubt very much he can play the 3. I can't believe they keep saying it. But with Rudy and Koponen possibly both making the team I am now in favor of going big with the draft pick unless we move up to get Rose, Bayless, or Gordon.

Re: The Mike Barret Interview
the link does not work. THis one should. http://blog.oregonlive.com/blazers/2..._to_catch.html
CSKA offered Rudy a 4 year 20 mil deal (that's net, not gross), and he turned it down to be a Blazer. This guy is giving up a huge amount, I sure hope it works out for him and the Blazers.

Just listened to it. Soaking in the bath tub to the smooth sounds of MB voice talking hoops. The only thing missing was a fine bottle of Boones and some candles. Heaven baby, Heaven.

I guess we can always hope that someone jumps into the top-12 and a guy like Westbrook or Randolph slides to us.

I am worming up to the idea of Gordan. He is only 6'3 shooting gaurd but Roy does have PG skills if they could be a good combo I like it.

Oops, I dropped the bar of soap. Hispanic, could you bend down and get it for me? I am worming up to the idea of Gordan.

Re: The Mike Barret Interview
It sounds like MB doesn't think Westbrook can play point. Interesting.

Sounded to me like he thought that Westbrook could play point but not SG.

Down 13 now...I have lost all confidence in this team, and I am so ****ing thankful that we don't play the Portland Mother****ing Trail Blazers any more this season. They'll sweep us.

He talked about how he thought Westbrook was too short to play shooting guard. That doesn't tell me Westbrook can play point, that tells me that Westbrook can't play shooting guard. If you thought that Westbrook was a point guard why would you talk about his lack of size for the shooting guard position?

I think he also said how Westbrook was one of the ones that really stood out, but we would have to move up to get because his stock is rising. I assumed he was talking PG as well. Either way I think he would be a year away from getting significant playing time.

JJ plays the 2, so does Iverson, so have many who are "short." RW will have trouble guarding some SGs, maybe. Steve Nash has trouble guarding ALL players in the league, it doesn't mean he "can't play" PG. Roy has trouble guarding PGs, yet many around here say he can play the 1.
RW is an fantastic prospect, just what the Blazers need - a starting quality role player.

Re: The Mike Barret Interview
He spent WAY more time talking about Joe Alexander than about Russell Westbrook.
I have a gut feeling we're targeting both of those guys in this draft. I bet Westbrook is going to be harder to get though.

Re: The Mike Barret Interview
I think there is a 90% chance we trade the 13th pick, so IMO its a waste of time to debate who we'll pick at 13.
