This is true... as hard as it is for me to agree with.
Jack really isn't that bad. I wonder why we hate him so much now? He will be pretty good when Oden comes...

Re: Which Point Guard...
I picked PK, because hope springs eternal, and the well is pretty much dried up for me when I look at Sergio and Jack, although Blake is definitely a proven commodity and I hesitated for awhile making him second.
Long term I think I'd be happy with acquiring a vet PG, ditching Jack and Sergio and giving Pet-co a couple of years to develop in the NBDL and as a 3rd string backup ... He's got length, he supposedly can shoot, and by all accounts has decent court vision ... I'm really pulling for the guy to make an impression this summer.

I'm sure PK can shoot and handle and pass. I'm not sure he is quick enough to cover the PGs in the NBA. I hope he can.
Pet-co?
I like that as much as K-mart. We just need to find someone named Wally Martin and then we could add Wal-mart to complete my list of most hated retail stores.

Re: Which Point Guard...
Ideally, we could splice together the DNA of Jack and Sergio and have a Jarrett Jack who had really good court vision. I'm also shocked at the pervasive animosity towards Jack (not just on this board - he was the only "name" Blazer to get voted off on OregonLive's "Blazer Survivor"). He's not that bad! The Derek Fisher analogies are apt - he makes up for a lot with his team qualities (well liked, makes a point to note what plays the other team are calling, etc.) and is practically the only Blazer besides Roy who will drive to the hoop. He's also surprisingly effective against Chris Paul. I'd keep him over Steve Blake.

I was wondering if anyone would catch that.

Unless you've been secretly watching Jack play, and he's completely altered his game, you're nuts.

Cogently argued. Are you saying he doesn't drive to the hoop?

Re: Which Point Guard...
pretty much, I picked PK because I also think he is the only potential long-term solution at PG. The other guys are either not good enough (Blake, Sergio) or so hated (Jack) that they won't stick. Remember, when we drafted Koponen it was said that if he was from the U.S. he would have been a SI Coverboy...he's "that" good.

Way to damn with faint praise.
Jack has a future in pro basketball. Too bad it's in Europe.

Re: Which Point Guard...
I went with PK because, as much as he is an unknown I think he has the most potential of the 4. Its a 'shoot for the moon' pick.

Re: Which Point Guard...
Where is everyone getting such a high idea of Petteri Kopenen? Yikes. Is there some ridiculous set of data or video that I haven't seen yet?
My understanding is that he played well in a lower tier Finnish league, that he is tall for the point position and that he is quite young. How are people sizing him up as better than Blake, much less Jack?
