Which Point Guard...
...would you most want to keep of the 4 we currently have the rights to?

Re: Which Point Guard...
For me it was a toss up between Blake and PK. PK is not ready now to be a starting PG in the NBA. Blake is. A year or so down the road, I'd probably like PK better. Blake is a decent PG for this team. He doesn't turn the ball over, he shoots well and he defends reasonably well. I would love it if he could figure out how to get into the paint and score, but I don't see that happening at this point in his career.

Re: Which Point Guard...
It was a toss-up between Blake and PK but I want to make the playoffs this year. I think we need at least one veteran PG if we are going to have any chance of making the playoffs. I would like to keep both and like to see Jack gone this year and Sergio next unless he really improves his shot.

Re: Which Point Guard...
I voted PK not so much because I think he is going to be great (I don't know), But I choose PK as a representative for other PG's who are not yet Blazers. Blake is OK as a BU, but thats it. The other two are just bad.

Re: Which Point Guard...
Steve Blake! He is a pass 1st PG and can run our offense just fine. Keep our starting lineup the same as last year, but insert Greg.

Aaah come on! Jarett Jack is pass first too! Too bad he passes it first to the other team though.

Re: Which Point Guard...
Blake or PK. But since PK is not proven and has zero NBA experience, I would have to take Blake. Not to say that Blake is a proven superstar or anything, but he can play in this league.

Re: Which Point Guard...
I am pretty surprised folks are going with PK, because to be honest, he really hasn't even played in a top notch euro league yet.

Re: Which Point Guard...
I picked Blake, he's a steadying influence. He doesn't do anything stupid. OTOH, he doesn't force the issue much which doesn't put much pressure on the other team.
However, I think many people on this board overrate "NBA experience". Oden and Rudy don't have any, yet no one is saying they are not ready. PK is a tall PG with pure PG skills. Let's just see him in summer league playing the point (he didn't much last year) before condemning him to "being a year away."
I don't think Sergio or JJ have a future with the team, unless we trade Blake.
Semi-Random Fact: JJ has basically the same AST/TO as Monta Ellis.
JJ has basically the same PER as Kirk Heinrich.

There is a big difference between being physically dominant (Oden) and having gone to school, and brought a team to the NCAA finals. Rudy has competed in a top euro league, which allows the coaches to evaluate him against known competition. While I do agree that Koponen is a wait and see guy, the main thing is, we know what the other guys have done, and what they are physically. We do not know much about Koponen except that he is a 6'5" freak of a point guard playing in a 2nd string league. He may end up being a diamond in the rough. But the chances are slim at best.
