13th Pick- Today's Consensus
OK, I checked the top 48 mock draft sites that have been updated since the recent players returning to college. Here are the results of who we pick with the 13th pick:
Joe Alexander (SF)- 14
Darrell Arthur (PF)- 6
De Andre Jordan (PF/C)- 5
Danilo Gallinari (SF)- 4
Donte Green (SF)- 4
Brandon Rush (SF)- 3
Nicolas Batum (SF)- 3
JaVale McGee [C]- 2
Russell Westbrook (SG)- 2
Eric Gordon (SG)- 2
DJ Augustin (PG)- 1
Kevin Love (PF)- 1
Kosta Kufos [C]- 1

Joe at #13 would be amazing.

Ya, but it sounds like he'll be drafted higher than 13th... and that we'll trade our pick.

Re: 13th Pick- Today's Consensus
I would say it's almost certain Alexander, Love, Westbook and Augustin won't be there at 13. Also Gordon.

I would say it's almost certain the Blazers trades the pick.

What about Batum? Can we hide him in Europe for a few years?

Pritchard said his agent intends on having Batum play in the NBA this season, and Batum wants to play in the NBA this season. For this reason, I don't think we pick him.

Re: 13th Pick- Today's Consensus
The sooner Batum signs here, the sooner he can have a fat contract here. If he plays in europe too long, the buyout becomes too expensive if he is any good.

OK, not really. More of a minor new twist to consider.
True Hoop quotes Larry Brown as being very down on this draft class. He essentially says that no one beyond the first 2 picks is good enough to start in the NBA.
Coming from almost anyone else, I would consider that a smoke screen. Given Brown's track record for not liking younger players, I suspect it is a real reflection of his opinion.
Which leads us to what the Bobcats plan to do on draft day. Why hire a new, big name coach and then give him players he expressly doesn't want? Could the Bobcats be willing to trade the pick, or trade down to 13, if we could throw the right player their way? Who would that player (off our roster) be?
Gotta love this time of year. It's like having a licsense to let your imagination run wild!

Re: 13th Pick- Today's Consensus
From my fan perspective, I don't see a lot of solid NBA starters in the draft. I see a lot of solid reserves and maybe starters on some weak teams as well.
On the other hand, the NBA talent level has been dropping for some time and maybe there are 15-20 potential NBA starters in this draft. Or, there could be a lot of sleepers.

Re: 13th Pick- Today's Consensus
The draft is full of role players. Whether they'll start or not depends on the team they wind up on, and who that team's best players are.

Re: 13th Pick- Today's Consensus
I wouldn't put much stock into it. Who knows how old some of those "Today's mock drafts" really are....could be from a month ago. Also, no way the Blazers take some of those players and they are clearly ordered BPA and not to need.
