The Roster As I see it
After this draft this is who I see under contract, and we have drafted. (some of the trades haven't been to clear, please feel free to correct me.)
Guards(6)
Brandon Roy
Jaryd Bayliss
Martell Webster
Rudy Fernandez
Steve Blake
Sergio Rodreigez
Forwards(6)
LaMarcus Aldredge
Channing Frye
Raef LaFrentz
Travis Outlaw
Nicolas Batum
Ike Diagou
Centers(3)
Greg Oden
Joel Pryzbilla
Omer Asik
Now this is with the understanding that Jack and McRob and Rush traded for Bayliss, and Diagou. Then Arthur and Joey Dorsey for Batum, and finally that Idaho Stampede guy for a 2nd rounder next year.
That puts us at 15 exactly for the season, with the possibility of Asik(extremely likely) and Batum(read that he wants to play in the nba THIS year) playing overseas. So thats 1 or 2 more roster spots. Meaning a good chance of Koppenen coming over this year as well.
I am also assuming that Wafer wont be asked back, and that Jones will not be either ( I'm not sure who will pay more than 3.1 mil a year for him, but the mid level is around 5)
Finally, as if there was any doubt (never seems to be anymore) grade A draft by Pritchard again.

Re: The Roster As I see it
We don't have Omer Asik anymore. He was traded to Chicago I think?

Re: The Roster As I see it
blake/bayless/sergio
roy/rudy
outlaw/webster/batum???
la/frye/diogu
oden/pryz/raef
14 players assuming our rooks sign and rudy signs
so we got 1 spot for a d-league guy later or for trades later
i like how the draft panned out
we got the point we needed and i never thought we needed a 3 man like everyone was sayin...we had outlaw there
we have great depth all throoughh...and batum is a great project...i highly doubt he will be a scrub if KP likes him

Re: The Roster As I see it
I dont think Kopponen comes over this year unless we trade Sergio.
With that said I think the 15th guy on our roster will be Joel Freeland next year.

Re: The Roster As I see it
This draft got damn confusing, a lot of the trades were not reported til later in the second round. ANYWAY Asik won't play in the NBA this year (if ever). Gives us 1 more roster spot, Freeland or Koppenen, or someone else.

Re: The Roster As I see it
This is going to be a sick lineup with a lot of combinations that we can put out there, and so much depth.
Can't we get the ball rolling tomorrow?

Re: The Roster As I see it
I hope we don't waste a roster spot (and a year of a cheap contract) on Kopo or Freeland. Given all the youth and ridiculous talent at every position right now it might be better if they both get a 3 or 4 year deal and regular minutes in Europe.
Give it to a D-Leaguer instead, we're already going to be short of playing time. And maybe when things quiet down the idea of Outlaw at the 3 needs to be discussed, personally I'm not convinced.

la/frye/diogu
oden/pryz/raef
Good balance: 3 at eash position with many who can play a couple of positions.
