This makes the most sense ... with this minor change.
But man, competing with the Lakers for the next several years will be a bit@#ch.

Re: Division Realignment
I think they are just going to rename our division from northwest to the redheaded stepchild division.

Re: Division Realignment
It's crazy. Then you've got Philly, who can get to any of there divisional opponents within a 45 minute flight! Crazy!

Re: Division Realignment
Believe it or not, with such a young team I think that being forced to take longer flights together might actually be a positive. It helps forge unity and provides extra time for preparation instead of getting into the city early and just going clubbing.

Re: Division Realignment
On road trips they get into these towns so late after a game, they usually don't have time to go to clubs. I think the coaches and players would much rather have our division be like Sac, G.State and the L.A.'s instead. Not so much travel!

Yes, this is the correct grouping (so sayeth barfo).
However, if the league thinks they are going to move a team to Seattle, they won't change the divisions now.

Re: Division Realignment
A realignment would make sense from a geographical standpoint, but does it really give us a disadvantage? I'd say no. You still have to play each team 4 times, 2 home and 2 away. The only exception being that there is a team or two that we only play 3 times.
A centralized team like Denver will be in the air less than Minny, OKC, Portland, or Utah, but I don't think it will make that much of a difference.
But I do agree, there should be some kind of realignment at some point, but I don't see Stern doing it unless his buddy Clay Bennett complains about it. Then maybe something may get done.

Yeah maybe after the Katrina effect has left New Orleans, the Hornets may be on the move again if they can't fill their arena.
