Re: Welcome me Blazer fans...
Welcome man. I can't imagine how hard it must be right now, but hopefully you will enjoy watching this Blazer team. Lots of Seattle/Washington connections here with McMillan, Webster, Roy, Paul Allen, etc..

I really like the team, have for awhile. I wanted Roy to fall to us when he was drafted in 06 so badly. nice homegrown talent, what a great player's he's become already. Aldridge & Oden is going to be good. I like Frye a lot if you use him correctly. Bayless was an interesting pickup, i thought he was going to the Sonics for sure. mcMillan, a great and true Sonic. His coaching can be eh, but I support him most of the time. Anyway, yeah. I've gotten more and more used to the idea of this day happening, but I've officially accepted it. I want to see the Blazers win.

Welcome, you're a stronger fan than I. If the Blazers left Portland, esp under the circumstances of the Sonics, I would have abandoned the NBA as a whole.
Once you've fully acclimated yourself to the fever that is Blazermania, you'll see that you were meant to be one of us.
Don't forget the quiz though. It's multiple choice, and you need to get 90% to pass.
Oooh, that's not a bad idea..we should have a "master Blazer fan quiz". And not like those cheesy ones you see on facebook that ask really dumb crap like "who isn't on the team currently?"

Re: Welcome me Blazer fans...
I'm very sorry to hear about the Sonics, I really wanted them to stay in Seattle and am sad to hear that they're leaving. I've never hated your former team either. In fact, the McMillan, Gill, Schrepf, Kemp, Payton, Perkins team was one of my favorite of all time and loved to watch them play. Unfortunately I was never able to watch them play live.
Welcome to the community, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Re: Welcome me Blazer fans...
Man, oh man. Pretty much the ONLY situation I can think of to justify such brazen band-wagoning is the Sonic's current one.
Welcome aboard, brother. We're sorry for your loss.

Re: Welcome me Blazer fans...
I am curious what they will call the OKC since the sonics are still in seattle.

Re: Welcome me Blazer fans...
Welcome. It's a really ****ty thing, what Bennet and the NBA did to Seattle. You have my condolences. I hope that the Blazers can help take away the sting of it, and I look forward to arguing with you over minor team details that are mostly irrelevant like we always do on this board!

Re: Welcome me Blazer fans...
Hmmm.
After "The Collapse";
After years and years of first round knockouts on a talented team full of bad PR guys;
years and years of JailBlazer **** and regular headlines and national jokes;
years and years of friends and family looking at me with a sad grin when I said I actually follow this team closely - followed by silence;
years and years of the disaster that was the Vulcan/Patterson/Nash Titanic voyage;
and when it all hit rock bottom with the team on the market, the worst record in the NBA, Allen not showing up for games, the stadium bonds in default, then:
The summer of 06 and the flowering of new plant shoots coming up out of the compost; Getting screwed by the lottery with only the #4 to show for the worst record in what I thought was a 2 player draft (LA and Gay), the new kid, KP, helps snatch 2 of the 3 best players out of this class: Roy and LA.
Two more years of this positive momentum: Allen spending money on the team, buying draft picks and buying back the stadium, more good drafts, winning the Oden sweepstakes, winning games again, and what is widely considered the best young roster in the NBA.
It is a good time to be a fan of this team.
I just don't think that if this team wins a championship, that new fans can experience the same feelings that those having gone through all the above will.
I guess this is a bit of a warning that some of the old-timers on here may act weird from time to time. The road traveled is a partial explantion. The rest of the explanation is that we are just flat-out weird.
Enjoy.
