Those are good factors. But don't you also have to factor in that he is playing against SL defenders and making a lot of turnovers . . . how is going to fare against NBA defenders.
Overall, Bayless will get less minutes and during those minutes will not have the ball in his hands as much as SL . . . should be interesting to see his TO to Ast ratio. No matter what I think if he is able to average 20+ points in SL, he will be able to score in the NBA . . . effciently, we will have to wait and see.

So you've now officially picked out Bayless as the "MARIS Scapegoat O' Scorn"?

Yeah.. he seems a little pissed off about not winning. He's so wound up KG style but hey, maybe it's something this team needs.
Part of it too probably were the dumb questions asked of him...

True, but i don't take into account the TOs in summer league really. Bayless has to make things happen. Koponen is gettin' 4.33tpg while Bayless is gettin 4.67, so both are turning it over a lot.
And for the TO/Asst ratio, the fact that he doesn't have anyone to pass to, isn't PG, and was told to score really factors into the assist category. If he had halfway decent player he would definitely be gettin' 3-4 apg with ease (and that isn't counting the fact that he would make extra passes because he would have good teammates, but just the good passes he has made that should be easily finished but weren't). Good players like with the blazers he'd be gettin' 4-5 apg, which isn't bad for him since he is playing SG.
I can see how one can be concerned about his Assist to TO ratio, because it seems like the one bad part of his game, but i think its being read into too much. That is just my opinion on the matter.

Re: Bayless is going to start at point
When alll is said and done, I dont think Bayless will ever become a true PG in the sense of Nash, DWill and CP. But, he is going to be every bit as much of a PG as guys like Tony Parker, Monta Ellis, ex.
I think the Bayless/Roy combo is going to be very similar to San Antonio's combo of Parker/Ginboli but with Bay never being quite as good as TP and Roy being better than Manu.
I see Bayless getting 4-5apg at his prime.

Not at all.
He seems to be a potentially All-Star quality SG go-to guy, much like Roy.
Why limit him and the team by playing either of them out of position and without the benefit of our best playmakers to help them succeed?
Sheer idiocy done simply to massage their egos rather than play them each fewer minutes but quality=production minutes.

I never read/heard that. The plan to have PK run the point for the first 3 games and then let Bayless have a go at it was stated prior to the summer league starting. Makes perfect sense to me to give each guy a few games in a row to settle in and show what they can do.

Man, I have to say I really wish the "Ignore list" extended to quotes. You guys are really undermining my plan to stop getting "dumberer" from having to read the stuff Maris throws on the screen.
As for the bolded part, logic isn't an effective "antiseptic" in reply to Maris' posts; it's like falling into a Lewis Carroll story -- up is down, right is left, and the more you fight it, the more entangled you become. The only valid replies to a Maris post, oddly enough, are "I like cheese", or "I like turtles."

Huh? Bayless says he's a PG and I believe him. Like people have said, he doesn't have anyone to pass to in SL. He will be a great PG alongside Roy. More of a 5 assists scoring PG (see Tony Parker) than a 10 assist PG. But he's a PG. To say he will never be a PG is a huge assumption to make about a 19 year old PG.

Hill was a Mark Eaton type. He was out rebounded by his own teammates so he didnt get many boards but he didnt give up many to opposing centers. On defense he was a great shot blocker.
