Hoopsworld's Nedzad article

I wonder if we will let him develope in Europe, or bring him to Portland to develope. That'd be cool if he played on our SPL team, so we can get an idea of his potential/game...then let him go back to Spain for a year to develope.

That's quite possible. My Sonics have our second rounder Paccellis Morlende playing in our summer league team.
btw, Some guys from the Sonics board went to the open practice at Seattle Pacific U...apparently Antonio Daniels was there. He is a FA, so hmm....could it be a clue ?

Is Nenzad gonna be some freak center? I sure hope so! LOL wasn't this one of the years that the Spurs could have taken our 2nd round pick. Wouldn't that be totally ironic if Nenzad does turn out when the Spurs had hte opportunity to pick him. LOL maybe not, because if he was THAT under the radar we must have some unreal scout or something.

I would leave him in europe this year, and then next year, bring him in as a backup C. At that time, Davis contract will be up and it will be Nenzad time

The funny thing is there was a recent article, on ESPN.com I believe, talking about how few teams actually had European scouting in place. They made it sound as if only a small handful of teams (Dallas, SA, Sacto, and maybe one or two others) had anything in place, despite all the scouting reports to the contrary. I got the impression they were basically looking at who has the best international players and working backward from there to make a point... Portland wasn't mentioned, yet they're the only team to have even heard of Nedzad...

Keeping him in Europe for 2 or 3 years makes the most sense to me. He's not going to be ready to contribute in any meaningful way before then, and he'd simply be wasting on the bench.
I am not sure about where a player would develop faster, but I'll take my chances with him playing at a high level in Europe than riding the pines for the Blazers.

It's tough for me to offer an opinion about Nedzad, simply because of a lack of information. If I knew more about Nenzad, I might be able to offer a more concrete idea of what would be the best course of action. I guess we'll just have to trust that the Blazer front office know what they're doing with Nerzad. After all, they've been the ones scouting Newzad. They've hopefully seen Nexzad play, and have a good idea about what environment will be the best to enhance Nefzad's development as a player.
But it sounds like Nevzad is going to need a year or two overseas to bulk up and gain experience. That's probably a smart move, since Nepzad probably wouldn't get much PT on the Blazers this year, and it sounds like that's what he needs more than anything else.

I couldn't help myself. Half the posts on this thread referred to him as Nedzad, the other half as Nenzad. I saw a potential "McGinnis" situation happening again, and decided to throw a little humor into the discussion.
His name is Nedzad, right?????........
