So now we just have Damon and Jeff for the PG spot? There has got to be a stove on somewhere with this team don't ya think?

Well, AD rarely, if ever, played the 1, so losing him doesn't affect the PG position IMO.

Of course, a McInnis-Stoudamire combo leaves a lot to be desired irrespective of that...

I think that is what he was eluding to Ed.. with there has to be a stove on somewhere...

You would think the team management woudl realize that the PG situation is in dire straits...

Damon and McInnis is not going to cut it in my opinon....

although if you compare this to a few years ago of Damon and Eric Barkley, its still an upgrade...

Besides, I feel it may not be smooth sailing with those two as well...

Damon is suspended.. so now are they gonig to kiss and make up and say.. hey we need you buddy.. come and play for us... we always wanted you to be our #1 PG...

or McInnis...
Do nto worry about those confessions of us trading you with Sabonis to Milwaukee for Payton.. it was just the media who made it all up.... we wanted you all along...

and to Scoottie... we feel your to old and still to much $ to play with us again...

you just have to hope they have a plan to bring in a veteran PG, or a younger one of good skill....

I realize AD did not play a lot of PG, but at $2 mill ( the Sonics offer for 3 years) he is pretty cheap.... I woudl want AD as a backup SG... so either Bonzi or DA could be moved for another player with a different position

I think I'm gonna give the benefit of the doubt to John Nash that he can figure out that PG isn't the team's strongest position.

I'm sure he'll do whatever he can to improve it, but it's not going to be easy. There is hardly an overabundance of point guards in the league.

I don't see Damon being around, and McInnis is questionable as well. Maybe we'll sign someone cheap (Claxton, is Whitney a FA?), and/or bring someone in a fairly large trade. I wouldn't worry too much this early in the game. We didn't really have a shot at Kidd, Miller or Arenas in my opinion and we took our shot at Payton already...

I'm not too worried, we have some competant dudes in office right now.

Cheers

I don't know why daniels didn't get more playing time! I thought he was our best PG. I like Daniels because he didn't make many mistakes, he could make plays on offense and defense because he was so athletic. I think Portland will regret not keeping him. (plus he was one of our only nice guys)

Has anyone got a link ? I heard he was close to signing though....

Hopefully he can play well for the Sonics, he should get more playing time than the 13mpg he got in PDX.

I'm just happy we got any FA, and were getting Daniels for a pretty cheap price...

Hmm...this is all I could find Link

Quote:
Guard Antonio Daniels is believed to be close to signing with the Sonics as a free agent.

The Sonics are thought to be offering a package similar to their final proposal to Ollie....a three-year contract worth about $6 million with a starting salary of $1.9 million.
That sounds pretty cheap for AD....

I think AD would be a steal at that price. He really needs more time... but he is not a true PG IMHO... but he is very atheltic and I do liek he has control of the ball a lot.... not a lot of TO's

Yeah, I agree...he is more like a combo guard. But, his athleticism and defense will be useful for us, we lack it.

If AD and Bones Barry can run the point, and with Ridnour coming off the bench, the PG spot looks alright...

He's one of those players that I think every team would love to have. He's solid (if unspectacular) both on and off the court, can play both guard spots well, and is a hard worker. The Sonics are lucky to have him.

Damn damn damn damn damn damn damn.... I loved AD. He's the type of energy player I always wanted. We had him... Never got much PT but produced when he did. Come on Blazers, do something to impress me already.
