I'd agree with Ed here: more Wayman than Chuck. Unlike Tisdale, though, Zach will go get rebounds. I like the Karl Malone comparison. They're the same size, build, and general lack of athleticism. Malone developed steadier range, free throw shooting, passing, defense, and acting over his career, but started out as a big brute with a nose for the ball. The areas Malone developed are all good areas for Zach to build on, too.
Another thing very different about Barkley is the handles. He could handle like a guard, which, with his strength and leaping ability, let him drive or be a one man rebound-and-fast break like nobody else ever. Of course he only played one side of the floor, and if he'd had any sort of fitness discipline he could have played another 5 years, but I sure enjoyed watching him play when he did.

But then the question is whether Zach can play jazz guitar like Waymond.
I love the comparisons to Sir Charles. As much of a no defense playin fat *** as the man was, just as Pip, he could just play ball. Zach just seems to have a knack for gettin the ball into basket and snaging rebounds that reminds me of Sir Charles. But he doesn't have anywhere near the court savy that Sir Charles had. Sir Charles isn't the brightest guy off the court but on the court he just knew what to do. I remember in the 2002 summer league game against Utah Kirilenko blocked Zach's shot like 5 times and Zach kept coming back. Sir Charles had a lot more basketball smarts.
Zach reminds me of a young Karl Malone, who was drafted 11 spots behind Waymond in the 85 draft. He just takes the ball inside and gets it done. No flashy bs. Just get position, get the ball, put the ball in the basket.

On topic: I don't see much, if any, Charles Barkley in ZR. Charles's athleticism was ridiculous... he could run the floor and jump over people, even when he was heavy. ZR has more developed moves with his back to the basket, but he's nowhere near Charles in my opinion.

I agree with these 2 fellas. Zach could develop into an awesome player, but Barkley? Man he was special and clutch... He wanted to carry the team and is one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history. I think you are under-estimating Barkley a bit.

I hope Zbo is different than Chuck cause he brings Portland a series of rings. Chuck couldn't win a title with any team he was on. What the two do share in common is a nose for being at the right place at the right time to get clean up hoops. Being at the right place at the right time is so freaking important, and very few have that good of a nose for the ball.
Zach is going to command attention but Q will be the real death punch for many years to come. These two kids could do something really special in Portland.

Cross between Karl Malone and Charles Barkely
Zack has the Build of Charles and Karl put together. Z-Bo is showing that his work ethics are like Malones and his attitude to match. It looks as though he doesn't like to take any crap like both players, which is a good sign for a furture star. He has got a quick release, like Manny used to.
This guy is a TRUE power forward that we were used to seeing in the late 80's and early 90's. Now, power forwards are taking the role of the center position from that time. I can't wait to see how Z-Bo looks at the start of the season!!!!

We are hearing about bonzi and sheed working out and putting on musle, But I would most like to see randolf come back built a little more then in the past. I think he has great work ethic, and he works on his shot, and low post moves, and defensive rebounding, and such, has anyone heard about how he is at training in the weight room?

At season's end, there was an article that Zeebo hit the weight room and is working on his game.

There is a huge difference in being in great shape, and Karl Malone shape, Malone is a beast and built like a wall. I am shocked with how smooth he moves for that much muscle mass.

When was Zach Randolph ever pushing Amare around?
The most memorable play was when Amare volleyball-blocked Zach's dunk attempt like he was Earl Boykins.

There is a difference between working out (getting into shape) and working out (lifting weights). I have not read anything indicating Bonzi is putting on muscle. I have read he has lost about 15 pounds, which means he is likely concentrating more on just getting into shape rather than lifting a lot of weights.
Similary, I have not read anything indicating Rasheed is lifting weights (I might have just missed it). I read that he is working out in Las Vegas at that basketball camp, which doesn't necessarily mean he is lifting any weights at all (which would be about normal for him). It is possible Rasheed could actually come in weighing less this year than last if he is in better shape, rather than sitting around eating twinkies while gaming on his PlayStation 2 all summer.
