Z-Bo a young sir Charles?
Who else sees a young Charles Barkley in Zach Randolph? There are so many similarities. Z-Bo can score on anyone when in the paint. His mid range jumber is getting pretty good. He draws a lot of fouls and makes a high percentage of on his free throws. Can rebound with anyone. He is also built similarly, with deceptive speed and athletisism. All he needs to do is develope a three, which Barkley did later in his career. Oh yeah, hes 3 inches taller though. Man, he is gonna be a superstar.

I see him as more of a webber type player. Barkley was far more physically aggressive. randolf has real good hands like webber and his hook is similar as wll. On defence, Randolf does not resemble either barkley or webber. I think that his defence will improsve greatly, it certainly started to last year.

I'm gonna have to disagree. I think Z-Bo is very physical. He's battling in the paint every time down court. Very Barkley-like. I remember against the Suns, he was pushing Amare Stoudamire around like a rag doll.

Z-bo is a star on the rise. I can't wait until he shows us what he is really made of, once he starts out in the starting lineup. He just has the heart that a lot of players don't play with which makes him improve yearly. I remember reading an article on him about how he works hard during the off season to improve his game. It's great to hear that other Blazers are following the same motive to improve there game.

Zack should have a great year, I'd expect him to bust out just like Bonzi did a few years ago.
Charles never had a good three though we don't need Zbo out there shooting them. He is really good in the paint and aggresive like Sir Charles and I think he'll be really tough to contain this year.
Hopefully he improves his D then he won't have any weekness.

I diagree. I think Z-Bo needs to had some more wieght to him. Muscle or fat, I don't care. If you are gonna compare him to Barkley who happens to be one of the best power forwards of the NBA that hasn't won a championship then you gotta pick a player like Amrae Stoudamire. He's pyshical, and though he maybe even taller than the two he can bring you a good game night in night out. He plays agressive defense like Sir Charles and his offensive mind set is like Barkley's too but he doesn't have that Barkely I am the **** attitude. What about Portland trading for him and possibly Hardaway's contract for Wallace and Patterson? What are your thoughts about that?

Lakerman, you say Zach needs to add more muscle or weight...the man is listed at 270 lbs! How much do you want him to weigh? 370?

Zbo is a great shooter from the sides needs to work on deep range games , but I remember when he was rookie all he did was shoot jump shots

I just read in ESPN mag that Amare was mostly blind in one eye and he got it fixed this offseason so he should have a much better year. I think he's gonna be awesome I mean he was out of HS last year! Think how many years it took McGrady and Kobe to develop. Look at K. Brown, Chandler, Curry, those guys arn't even close to Amare and their way older. Too bad the blazers couldn't get that deal worked out for him when we had a chance.

Zach has a nice 16ft jumper, post moves-a-million... But Charles was an athletic freak, something that Zach is not, but he's not a bad athlete..just not on the level of what Charles once was. I look at Zach as a more nimble Karl Malone or Elton Brand, not saying he'll ever be good as Karl..but Their games are similar imo.

Yeah I'd agree that charles was more of a freak than zack.
Its kind of stupid to compare players I mean you know a player is good when they stop comparing them. Once they've established their own name then people realise they do stuff nobody else can.

I don't think he's much like Webber, who plays more of a soft perimeter game than Barkley. What made Charles great is that he went to the hole every play, he worked hard on O and D every play, every game. Z-bo has similar skills and mentality. Let's just hope he doesn't go bad like Wells and Wallace.

Actually, this is wrong. Eddy Curry is a month younger than Amare, while Tyson Chandler is only a month older. Brown is about 8 months older, but I wouldn't say that really qualifies as "way" older.
Amare was much more impressive than any of them as a rookie, no doubt, and he's been significantly better than Kwame. I think that Chandler and Curry both have futures at least as bright as Amare, though.

I agree with this. I wonder how close we were to jumping ahead of the Suns...
On topic: I don't see much, if any, Charles Barkley in ZR. Charles's athleticism was ridiculous... he could run the floor and jump over people, even when he was heavy. ZR has more developed moves with his back to the basket, but he's nowhere near Charles in my opinion.
I see ZR as a better version of Waymond Tisdale, myself.
