Segment 1- Show starts , talking about the emails they are getting . It will be announced tomorrow Mike Barrot will be doing the play by play on Blazers tv . John Nash will join the show next segment , alot of rumors going on . Mike Rice said he was at the blazers practice facility today and saw Zach Randolph and Travis Outlaw and he is impressed with Zach as he continues to improve every part of his game .
segment 2 - John Nash joins the show , Nash said not to many deals are on the table right now . Ruben Patterson made a comitment to the blazers when he signed the contract , He would like to trade Ruben but not for the sake of doing it . He says im not for making Ruben Patterson happy , I want to make Paul Allen, Maurice Cheeks and the fans happy . The thing that scares most teams about Ruben is his contract 4 years remaining 24 million dollars nobody wants that . He talked to his agent Dan Fegan and he knows the their is limited want for Ruben around the nba. Ruben cannot afford to do something like this now in this point of his career. He has met with Zach and Ruben and Zach was wrong for what he did and Zach admitted he knew he was wrong . He said Ruben said he wants to play for a good team where he would get time. Talks about working on improving the character that we already have on our team .
segment 3 - Nash still on the show , Talks about luxary tax , Ruben Patterson having the trade kicker in hs contract so if he is traded to another team they would have to pay him 3.7 million straight up . Stephen Jackson said hes a great player , He gave him his first contract in New Jersey, He would not sign Jackson because he feels the blazers have to many players that play the shooting guard small forward position . Talk about Drobnjak says he thinks if we sign him the Sonics would match his contract . Mike Rice talks about Rasheed Wallace are any teams interested in him in the final year of his contract . Nash said yes for one Rasheed is a great player and he would take some teams over the hump , We realize Rasheed is a great defender the coaching staff loves Rasheed , Cheeks is a big supporter of him , We expect Rasheed to have a big year , but unless a star player is offered Rasheed will still be with us .
segment 4 - Caller asks when kobe is a free agent next year should the blazers go after him , Snapper says yes but they wont get him . Mike Rice mentioned some rumored deal that got nixed Blazers & Nets & Memphis & Raptors. Rasheed to New Jersey , Mutumbo to Toronto , Martin To Memphis and Antonio Davis Paul Gasol and Morris Petterson to Portland .
segment 5 - talk about Steve Smith , Email about Travis Outlaw , Rice said he is a fine young man , He still has a 18 - 19 year old body its gonna take about 3 years , but he is a very hard working kid . Rice talks about the blazers practice facility and talks about Zach schooling Antonio Harvey
segment 6 - Rice thinks Ruben if he remains a blazers would be a pain because Qyntel and Zach are going to get more playing time than him , Talk about the Rockets being interested in Ruben , Barrot thinks we should sign Stephen Jackson .
segment 7 - Start of 2nd hour , Michael Ray Richardson joins the show of the Denver Nuggets . Talking about his drug problem and how young players should avoid the wrong crowd . He was drafted 2 spots ahead of Larry Bird, He felt blessed to return to play basketball , Talk about David Stern banning him from the league during that time , and he felt he banned himself from the league . Thinks the Nuggets have some nice young players but feels in the west you need big bodies. Thinks Camby if he would play a full season it would be a plus .
segment 8 - email about Rasheed Wallace , Snapper thinks Rasheed is not a problem , He is a player with great ability , but lives in his own world . Their our days when Rasheed can be a model citizen and do good interviews , He has not heard one player since Rasheed has been here complain about Rasheed , Rasheed wants to be a team player , The blazers should surround him as much as possible because he has been the best blazer since hes been here .
segment 9 - Phone call about Jermaine o Neal , Mike Barrot says Jermaine can not be traded until Dec 15. Snapper thinks nobody can afford to take his contract right now , and he still makes less than Rasheed does .
segment 10 - More talk about the nba luxary tax , Top 15 teams lost 60 million and the teams who dont win are making tons of money . Compares the blazers to the Yankess trying to buy a championship but it worked for the Yankees. The spurs and the lakers , The spurs dont spend to much money on talent to win a championship . Talk about football contracts and if Ruben would have made a statement that he wanted to leave in football his contract could be terminated .
segment 11 - Mike Barrot talks about having his tonsils taking out . Talk more about the Luxary tax , Snapper thinks the blazers should pay 2 guys the money and so what the spurs do surround them with hard working guys . The blazers have guys who make the big money and they all want the ball .
segment 12 - How email , listening to John Nash . Portland is prepared to go into the season with the current roster , Snapper thinks the blazers are going to make deals it might not be now but going up into the all star break a deal will happen . Patterson take take away the trade kicker in his contract , the trade kicker was made so the sonics would not match the blazers offer . Snapper and Rice debate on the Miami Heat , Snapper thinks they will be good and Rice does not think so .
Traning camp starts in 3 weeks , Show ends .
