Do you really think these top high school recruits would go through volleyball? It's not a popular inner-city sport and i'm sure most of those guys would find it a complete waste of time. I don't see how volleyball would help out a basketball player at all. In basketball you run and jump around constantly anyway.....
I think making basketball a requirement for volleyball players would make more sense than the other way around.

No, I was just making a comment about how volleyball increases the vertical and overall athleticism of anyone. It does. Have you seen a volleyball practice? They jump as high as they can the entire time. It's jump, spike, jump spike, jump spike. Repeat for an hour. And perhaps it wouldn't make much of a difference for big time recruits, but borderline D1 guys? I think it's a damn good idea.

But basketball players run and jump all the time...A lot of those borderline D1 guys should probably be spending more time working on their game than spiking volleyballs.

Chase Budinger
People are saying he's gonna stick around for more than one year, but I doubt that. How how do you see him getting drafted. The kid has been phenomenal in college thus far (2 games).

Re: Chase Budinger
I have him #7 on my top ten list in the other thread.
I think he will be in the 2007 draft.

Well, for him not to be a lottery pick, there has to be 13 superior players.
Who are they?

Oden, Durant, Young, Noah, Horford, Hansborough, McRoberts, Splitter, Wright, Spencer Hawes, Yi Jianlian, Marcus Williams, Glen Davis, Brandon Rush, Aaron Gray
Some players on that list arent better players, but they will probably get picked ahead of him. Some due to intrigue, some due to the NBA infatuation with size.

Re: Chase Budinger
I would agree with the top 6. Maybes would be McRoberts, Hawes. The others would be rather doubtful but still in play, fine. No way Glen Davis or Aaron Gray gets taken before him.
