You don't have dig into the archives to find profiles. I have the following thread stickied in the main draft forum to make it easy to link to profiles. http://www.basketballforum.com/nba-d...r-threads.html

Re: Chase Budinger

I think this is his best year to declare. Right now he is upside deluxe and has the built in excuses of poor PG play and sharing shots with Marcus Williams. Next season, to just maintain his current projected draft position, he will have to be Durantish and he is not a lead dog. He is a blender.

He was Pac-10 rookie of the year so i dont think he needs to apologize for anything, in their offense at UofA he was probably the 4th option, whether that was by design or his lack of assertion we probably wont ever know. Personally i think he needs to stay in school.

Re: Chase Budinger

My view is you stay in school to improve your draft position. Like Marcus Williams before him, it will be a mistake to stay financially.

Re: Chase Budinger

I dunno where the rumors came from, but dont expect Chase to test the waters any time soon (meaning this year/draft). If you want a little more information you can check out my post in the Pac-10 forum in the thread titled Pac-10 players returning to school.

I think Chase is a top 10 pick this year, but he is a top 7 pick next season. It is his team next year, because the offense will run through him not Bayless.

ATLANTA - Is Arizona forward Chase Budinger heading to the NBA?
"That's news to me,'' said Duncan Budinger, Chase's father, in a telephone interview with the Citizen today. "He's got certain goals and I think him coming back to Arizona will help him achieve them.''

I didnt post what I knew over at Draft Express, because I did not want to explain myself as a new poster and did not want to show them up. I love DX and the coverage they provide and I know that this stuff happens to everyone, including the best. I am not sure who this source is, but the source either tried to run with a made up rumor, or isnt very close to the program. Those close to the program have known for a long time that Chase would be returning for his sophomore season. Chase's father and Lute just re-confirmed it for the public.

The rumor was on DraftExpress which is as reputable as it gets, it's not like one of us made it up. The argument that he is a top 10 this year and top 7 next probably wouldnt be enough for someone to come back, if that was their only motivation.

I know that the rumor came from DX, what I am saying is I have no idea where this rumor was started (i.e. Where their source got their information from). I am not saying that the website isnt reputable, I am stating that the source isnt... at all. Well top 7 next year means a shot at 2 or 3. Top 10 this year means a shot at 4 or 5.

He played against Bayless a few times in high school, I'm sure he knows his game pretty well.

What NBA player best compares to Chase? JR Smith?
