Re: Chase Budinger
I can see Jefferson. I don't think he's quite the athlete - not as physical/strong, though that could easily change, and not nearly as good a defender. But he projects to be a much more dangerous outside shooter.

Agree he needs to bulk up to match RJ's athletic package. If he fails to get stronger and more physical, I think he ends up a Morris Peterson.

Re: Chase Budinger
He can jump but he can't explode and dunk over you...He is too slow in all his motions. He will be a good player who might have a few 15 point years.

Re: Chase Budinger
What I dont get is why people rave about his shooting ability, but then trash Mayos. People said 44% and 37% on threes is horrible for a college guard, but its a little more than what Budinger is shooting at the moment, and OJ takes more shots!.
Wheres the consistency?

Because OJ hasn't shot well when he's gone up against defenses/teams that are actually capable of beating USC.

Re: Chase Budinger
He is the slowest leaper my god...This guy has insane hops but can't do it on a basketball court. He is a Kiki Vandeweghe type of player and that is a major compliment though Kiki had a great first step and could get off the floor quicker...even though he was slower in other areas.
At this point I think he should go back to playing volleyball. He doesn' seem to have passion for the game.

I dunno what his problem is, but he sure doesnt use his leaping ability as much as he should. When Chase takes it strong to the rim and with aggression he can be a very good player. The problem he has is his emotion and passion sway too much from time to time. For 5 minutes he can be very aggressive, then for 15 he can be methodical and rely on pull up jumpers. When he isnt shooting well he needs to attack the basket, the problem is he doesnt always do that. He also needs to work on his first step, because if he goes 100% on his dribble drives he can usualy beat his man, but more oftern than not he doesnt go full speed and doesnt get to the basket.

Re: Chase Budinger
How times have changed. From lottery to barely a top 25 pick. Any news on his workouts?
BTW who is more athletic Chase or Joe Alexander?
