Re: Tyler Hansbrough
I like him better than McRoberts at this point... ALthough I do think MCroberts has more upside but he isn't as great as some make him out to be...

No doubt about it Tyler's a much better college player than Josh. But Tyler has no more upside remaining, he's pretty much hit his ceiling. He's going to be a high-energy cheerleader in the NBA, much like Shavlik Randolph but with a lot less athleticism. Bill Curley anyone?

Re: Tyler Hansbrough
The negatives are all there; lack of height,no great outside shot, yada yada yada, thing is he just outworks everyone, gets off the floor in a hurry and loves playing the game. Went for 26 and 11 against a G-town frontline that had a couple of lottery picks on it.Tyler will be 22 in the fall so it seems a no brainer for him to leave for the nba, wont be an early pick but will get a late lottery call from some team.

I don't know about late lottery, but he's definitely a first rounder right now and there's no way he can improve that stock. I don't know if I would draft him myself, but he will definitely find a niche in the league. The way he works his *** off on the court will get him a lot of rebounds, even at that height.
But that said, I think Hansborough is going to graduate from UNC before he plays in the NBA.

Re: Tyler Hansbrough
Hansbrough will be a solid guy off the bench for a contending team at some point in his career. I dont think he has the ability to progress much further than he has now, but his work ethic and hustle will keep him in the league.
I personally think he should stay in college all four years. He wont improve enough to drastically change his draft stock, so why not graduate and enjoy his time at UNC?

Re: Tyler Hansbrough
If he can show some teams that he can rebound and hustle on defense, then he could probably find a niche at PF somewhere with a Kenny Thomas or Udonis Haslem type role.

He reminds me a lot of Mark Madsen. I really like him as a college player though, just don't think he'll translate well to the pro's.

We share basically the same view on him. He's a high-energy, high-effort, very tenacious player on both sides of the ball. However, that said, his game just does not translate to the NBA.
His post game is about being a bull in a china shop, but in the NBA, he'll most likely get muscled around. A LOT. It's almost point where he'd have to rely on a good mid-range shot (which I'd currently rate as poor), and putbacks. While he does have a good ability as a garbage man, I question his ability to get those putbacks against guys who are more athletic, or stronger.
Defensively, I love his game. He's got quick hands, and he comes off as a real annoyance on the defensive end (which is a good thing). However, his lack of athleticism, coupled with his lack of height (and wingspan), will make him an easy target for the taller post players of the game.
All in all, I see him as a Mark Madsen: a token cheerleader on the bench who will give you all the effort in the world, but just isn't skilled enough to truly excell.

Re: Tyler Hansbrough
Does anyone think he will come out after this season or is he destined to be a 4 year college player?
