Re: Hasheem Thabeet
This is our complaint: He should not be in the Top 5 in the 2007 NBA draft
1) You continue to ignore the fact that he has ZERO offensive skills.
2) You're also ignoring the fact that NONE of those guys went in a draft with as strong a first round as the 2007 draft is projected to be.
By the way... In my opinion, no one should take him in the 2007 lottery either, especially with some of the guys that will be available.
I still don't know why you're trying to persuade me he's worthy of a 2007 lottery pick. You're the one saying he's staying for at least 2 years.

So the guys I listed had great offensive skills coming from Europe or High School? Certainly some had SOME skills but not NBA-Ready Skills. Those players didn't have Hasheem's size. Perhaps the best comparison (size, + defense, no offense) is Chandler. If the 2007 draft is anywhere near as good as the 2001 draft, GMs should count their blessings.
I'm still wondering where I'm trying to persuade you that he is worthy of a 2007 lottery pick. I've never said he should be and I never said he shouldn't be (under the assumption he declares). That being said, it shouldn't come as a suprise to anyone if he was picked that high as it has consistently happened in the past. Further, my point has been that you are mistaken to judge a player based on 1/2 a game you've seen him play on TV in December of his Freshman Year. That is all.
Also, I didn't say he's staying 2 years. He said he was staying at least 2 years.

Re: Hasheem Thabeet
Hmm.. let's see. 7'3. Good shotblocker. Average rebounder. Foul prone. Not a force or intimidating. Plays "soft" Super raw offensively. There is like two of these types of players every draft.

More people putting words in people's mouths... Nice attempt at a red herring argument.

So you're saying he just had an off game offensively?
Admit it. He stinks on offense. Stop being a homer.

He does currently suck on offense. I posted as much in November (a post I referred you to).
Where have I tried to change the subject? You're basis for him not being of lotto potential is because he has zero offensive skills. My rebuttal was to list a series of players who have similar attributes that went in the lotto (including Chandler who went #2 in a very strong draft and also just received a near max contact despite still not having an offensive game in the NBA). Do you disagree with my list?
And alas, I am a homer for simply taking the other side despite never once saying he is desering of being a lottery pick.

Re: Hasheem Thabeet
If today was the end of the season, No but it wouldn't suprise me if he was if he declared.

Explain this part of your post. This is what I was rebutting. How can something be the "dumest thing I've ever seen" when it happens every single year?

Read it all. Now look at the context. The "That" at the start of sentence 2 is referring to taking him "4th in this coming draft." The "lottery" is subsequently referring to "this coming draft" (2007)
You can make things say whatever you want if you take things out of context.
Now look at other posts I made over the course of this discussion...

All you wanted to do is argue, even after I stated multiple times which draft I was referring to.
