Darrell Arthur (merged)
Kansas is loaded with talent. Arthur is 6'9" 230 pounds. So far this year he is ave 20ppg and 6rpg .667fg%. Not sure if he going to play PF or SF in the NBA(more likely SF) He has great athleticism.

Re: Darrell Arthur (merged)
Jizzy, you're too young to have really seen the original McDyess (before the multiple knee surgeries). It is actually a pretty decent comparison. DE is projecting him to come out in the 2008 draft, but he is a lottery pick when he does come out.
I believe he'll be a PF in the pros
In 21 MPG he is putting up 11.5 PPG, 5.0 RPG, 1.9 BPG & 1.1 SPG

Re: Darrell Arthur (merged)
Arthur has a lot of work to do on offense before we can compare him to the original McDyess. McDyess was an absolute beast at Alabama.

Re: Darrell Arthur (merged)
McDyess' coming out party was basically in the 1995 NCAA tournament. He did work as a frosh in the first round against Providence (Dickie Simpkins, Michael Smith), but in '95 he destroyed Penn in the first round with 39 points and 17 rebounds in an overtime first round game (12 vs. 5 matchup). The next game was against Big Country Reeves and he still gave the Cowboys 22 and 9. The Bama guards played very poorly that game as Marvin Orange couldn't get anything going and Jamal Faulkner (from Christ the King) came up small.
I don't think Arthur is the athlete of a McDyess. Back then he was grabbing boards over everyone.

Re: Darrell Arthur (merged)
Arthur is not the athlete that McDyess was
but Arthur has excellent fundementals and foot work and he really knows how to score at a high clip without having the ball too much in his hands
i think he can make an excellent 2nd/3rd option PF on a good team in the league
especially if he improves his outside game

Re: Darrell Arthur (merged)
Arthur is really special. The guy played so mature for being a freshman. I think he can be a franchise player at the next level. Not an "untradeable" asset or anything just a number 1 option on a team with a fat contract. Scary good.
Oh by the way Im watching that game against Florida from early in the season and he's demanding the ball and scoring in the post late in the second half of a close game. Then he steps up and sinks freethrows in the clutch to keep his team alive. Ice water people...

Re: Darrell Arthur (merged)
Big season for him this year. Could be a top 5 pick (or should be?)

Re: Darrell Arthur (merged)
Im watching him just pick apart Noah and Horford like an assasin. He's got Horford fouled out and he's just taking Noah to post move school. Pumpfakes, up and unders, left hand, right hand, finger-roll, clutch freethrows. He's smooth as ****.
I love breaking out the DVD's in the offseason. DVD recorder is one of the best purchases Ive made.

Re: Darrell Arthur (merged)
Darrell should have a very nice increase in production this year; could legitimately 'break out.' Wright's gone, Kaun hasn't really displayed anything, and I don't think Aldrich will be getting more than 20mpg next season.
He'll definitely be one of the most exciting bigs to watch next season. Can't wait to see him go up against Beasley twice.
