Re: Bill Walker

Bill was never going to be eligible for the 2007 draft because he graduated as part of the 2007 HS class, even if it was early

Re: Bill Walker

If Bill had challenged the rule, I doubt it would hold up in court, the disparate impact standard is clearly violated (i.e. the age limit, as written, does not prevent 18 year old international players from entering the draft, while barring 18 year old Americans, predominantly African-American, from entering). If the NBA had gone to court to protect the rule, odds are they would have lost the age limit entirely.

You seriously don't see how this will effect his draft stock? There were already red flags regarding his knees, a torn ACL obviously effects his draft stock. Even more so when you acknowledge his game is based upon athleticism.

While he might recover 100%, it certainly hampers his stock. Willie Green tore his ACL last summer and his newly minted contract extension got torn up. If you don't think ACL tears play into the minds of GMs you're dead wrong.

Test results should be coming out soon, 2 Kansas stations originally broke the news it was at least a partial ACL tear. I guess we'll wait and see if it's confirmed as true.

Re: Bill Walker

Hopefully for his sake its only a partial tear, because his athleticism was off the charts. Who knows how his game/draft stock develops if his ACL is torn completely.

This pretty much guarantees he will be back for a second year.

I hope so. Walker and Beasley would be just ridiculous.

Re: Bill Walker

He's finally gotten some consistent production at K State - about 15/7/2/1st/1blk so far w/ average shooting percentages. I could see him possibly testing the draft waters with a strong finish, but I'd bet he'll come back sans Beasley and really showcase himself next year to position himself for '09.

If he's smart he'll do that, but don't think he's that smart.

What makes you think that he won't be able to play a good role in the NBA ?
