Re: Bill Walker
Everything I've heard is to the contrary, Croco. Everything I've read has his jump shot and ball handling skills being something he spends extra time on every night before and after practice. He's a very hard worker. The main knock is the knee injury (which he is young enough to come back from) and the temper (which the Pistons are used to). I think he'd work well with a veteran team like Detroit.
I need to start a website or something and get word out, support, put the idea in Joe Dumars' head lol

Re: Bill Walker
I'm just wondering because when you look at his body there is certainly a lot of room for improvement. If he really has that work ethic like you said, it would definitely make him even more intriguing as a prospect, the upside is undeniably there. I actually have him at #28 in my mock, one spot before Detroit.

Re: Bill Walker
Draftexpress continues to interview some of the prospects, this time Bill Walker.
Quote:
Something that was especially impressive was the incredible amount of weight Walker has lost since arriving here in Chicago, according to him, over 25 pounds. His body is clearly NBA ready, and the athleticism he lost seems to be coming back, although from what we can tell, it’s still not quite at the level it was in high school.
Another thing that caught our eye was the intelligence Walker exhibits off the court. We had a chance to spend some time with him—the results of which you’ll see in an interview tomorrow—and really came away thinking that he’s an extremely bright and articulate guy, which will surely go a long ways in helping him reach his very high ceiling. It doesn’t seem like Walker will be playing in the pre-draft camp next week. He’s not ruling out going back to Kansas State, but that doesn’t seem all that likely at this point.

I don't think there are ten better prospects than a fully recovered Bill Walker in this draft, maybe not even five. I really like what he brings and his potential.

Re: Bill Walker
So over a month ago I come on here spouting that Walker should be drafted by the Pistons. Over the last month I have eMailed a LOT of blogs placing the idea in peoples' heads. In Chad Ford's latest mock draft today...
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/draft2...t&lid=tab5pos1
I'm not saying this is all me, or any of my doing at all, but damn if it doesn't feel good to have been the firs to say Bill Walker is perfect for Detroit and now other people are seeing the same thing.

DraftExpress also has him going to Detroit right now.
I really think it's a good fit. Looking at the bottom half of the 1st round, the Pistons taking him seems to make the most sense. Wouldn't really be surprised if it actually happened.

Re: Bill Walker
^Yeah, they've had him there for 2-3 weeks too.
I think there's a chance he goes late teens, early 20's after workouts though, so he might not be there for them.

Re: Bill Walker
It's good to see that his stock is rising, but I don't want him to go to a stacked team like Detroit.

Thats my biggest fear. Here's to hoping they make him a promise and he avoids working out for other teams. He's an athletic stud, but there are enough question marks about his knees that if he doesn't work out for another team there's no way they pick him.

I have heard that he left a good impression in any workout so far. He is scheduled for 14 workouts overall, he has had four or five so far, so he will still see a lot of planes. Did he work out for the Pistons already ?
